The DV6000 series units have GPU issues. ( Video controller )

Best to have technican check the unit and you may want to replace the motherboard.

The lcd screen on my Dlux-4 Leica will not light up at all? any thoughts?

Did you try to press the display button (bottom rich, under the display) several times? The pressing will cycle through different settings, like display off.

First, connect an external monitor to your computer. Can you see the display now ? (my computer has a VGA port and an HDMI port for output to an external monitor or TV. There is also a keyboard button, on my laptop it is F4, for switching between displays, internal/external/both. You will obviously need an appropriate cable for this test). If you can see a picture on an external display, then the problem is not with computers graphics hardware.

For the next stages you will need detailed information about your laptop as can only be found in the service manual or such. If you are lucky these may be instructional articles on various websites (eg Inside My Laptop) or YouTube videos showing you how to carry out certain tasks.

It might be that the small ribbon connector between the m/b of your laptop and its display has become disconnected. If so, this may easily be replugged in (this will require some disassembly of your computer).

It could be the screen your laptop is defective. It is often a component called the inverter which fails, or simply the backlight (CCFL in most). Either of these will need a new replacement part. Before starting on any work you will need to thoroughly diagnose the fault to be certain what is wrong. You can do this yourself, but it is quite an involved procedure and you will need instructions for your particular laptop (if you are lucky someone will have made a video, else you will have to rely on the manufacturer's service manual).

IF YOU ARE NOT COMPETENT/CONFIDENT TO WORK INSIDE YOUR LAPTOP OR DISAASEMBLE IT I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T.

HP Laserjet 4345MFP
Backlight on printer display does not light.
Counts up the 256MB memory then HP logo (3 sizes) appears (just visible)
The 3 lights keep cycling on the display. Thats it, does nothing else.
It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights.
Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine.
When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot.
I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference.
Your thoughts?

I have power going to the unit yet there is no display,a sony cdx-gt220,i know i have power because it is loading and ejecting cds yet no display.please help, its doing my nut in!!!!

I have a Sony CDX GT 530U. I had a problem with no display and I thought no power period. I did not try to install a CD, so maybe I did have power to the CD motor but no display. This was frustrating because I could get the old factory Nissan radio to power up and work so I thought I had a dead Sony unit. After a lot of monkeying around, I discovered I had blown a fuse while installing the unit (you should disconnect the negative terminal of the battery when installing the radio... which I thought I skip, that was a no no.). I had checked the auto fuses, those cheap little plastic fuses behind a panel below the stearing column inside most cars, at least all the fuses I thought went to the car stereo. Turns out I missed one that was labeled "Batt" or something like that, which was the constant power wire to the car stereo. There was another fuse for the Accessory power to the car stereo (the main juice went the key is tuned to ACC or Start position). Turns out the Sony unit display runs off the constant power, or at least the unit on/off button runs off the constant power wire, so even though the ACC power wire was live, the Constant power wire had a blown fuse and the unit would not turn on. Check all your fuses inside the car, I bet that's your problem. Constant power on my Nissan Sentra was a 7.5A fuse, while the ACC power ran off a 15A fuse, but your vehicle may vary. Good luck.
