I have a Samsung YP-U2. It is only around 2 months old. It has recentlty began switching off every time I try to turn the device on. The player loads up to 40% and then shuts itself down. The only way I can get it to load up completely is to hit the reset button. Therefor I must carry a toothpick around with me everywhere I take it.

Do you think it could be a problem within the device itself or the battery?

I have charged it many times now for hours through different computers and it will not seem to switch on unless I use the reset button.

Even if I do that it still shuts off sometimes all of a sudden and stops working again in the same way.

Hi.. My MP3 play is samsung YP-U2. it less than 2months old. one day when i turn it on, it only shows "SYSTEM-LOADING 0%" and it off itself. i thought that it was due to low bat, hence i tried to charge it, but to no avail.

i later tried the reset button but it still doesn't work. i also reformatted the drive, and yes, it still doesn't work. Any suggestions as to what can i do now?

I was listening to my music on My YP-U2R but it froze near the end of one of my songs, this has never happened before, It had been frozen for at least 3 hours and I think it turned off just as it ran out of battery, it wouldn't even load up on a computer.

If you can´t format your pendrive from my computer (mi pc) do this:

go to control panel (panel de control), administrative tools (herramientas administrativas), device administration (administración de dispositivos). Then, right click on your pendrive and click format. that´s all

A firmware update. Same happens to my friend's unit yp-u2(x) a 512 mb model.

In XP OS.

1. Download and install firmware updater.(manufacturer's support site)just key in model number and type.

2. Run updater, press and hold play button until its been detected fully by the updater.

3. Check the format box(My friend's unit firmware ver is 1.xxx to 2.xxx something when updated).

4. Hit the update button or something like that. do not detached the unit until its done. Unmount the unit using unmount method "Safely remove hardware".

5. Turn on the unit it should pass the 20 percent mark. When its good it has no file yet coz of format option. Just load your song.

I think it happens when too much file is upload in the unit. 60 percent of its capacity may be enough.

Hope it helps............

Just bought a yp-u2r cant seem to get it working first it said loading to 20per cent then reset it didnt do anything now just gone off altogether please help bit thick with technical stuff

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

You may be loading the wrong driver, if you are having trouble check these drivers:- http://www.samsung.com/download/Model_Select.aspx?type=Digital Audio Player&typecode=8&subtype=Yepp&subtypecode=801&model=YP-U2X&fileType=SW If no luck google for .dll and install to yor sys32 folder, but are you sure it is 'regdll.all' i haven't heard of the '.all' reference. Always shows 40% and will not load

Plug in your player in USB port. After the system reckognizes it right click on My Computer.Select Manage.Computer Management should open.Go to Disk Management. There you`l have disk 0(your hard dribe) and another disk drive which should be YP-1.Right click on YP`s disk folume and select format.Wait a bit, then a dialogue will pop-up.Select format, start the operation and wait until it finishes. After the format is complete your player should work fone.It helped me some months ago and i hope it`ll help you too cuz the situation is exactly the same

System loading. . . forever

Yes. Open up the hatch to where the USB jack is. Either below it or on top of it is a small opening that has a small white buton there. Hold it for ten seconds with a pin or something, then see if it works. If not, download sme firmware for your ypt8. Go on the samsung site, they should have some available (it might take a little searching, though). Hope I'm not too late!
