Question about Frigidaire Clothes Dryer Gas Valve 5303207409

Open Question

I have a Frigidaire glgq2152es gas dryer that looks like it has a pilot like flame after it has finished the drying cycle or when it is in pause. The only way to turn it absolutely off is by shutting down the main gas valve (between the gas tank and the appliance's hose). The machine starts, the igniter has a good glow, it has a good flame and it heats properly the clothes. Is it the gas valve assembly - part number 303207409 - which is damaged because it doesn't close the gas flow? We recently changed both gas valve solenoids part number 5303931775 and it has the same kind of pilot flame on. Thanks, REC.

SOURCE: Dryer is getting hot but clothes are not drying

You have a vent problem. Eliminate all (if possible) flex duct (replacing with ridged aluminum pipe and aluminum elbows). Clean lint out of remaining vent pipe. Make sure vent is not crushed or obstructed, especially behind the dryer. If possible, make sure outside vent termination is not a two inch opening. (you want a full 4 inches)

SOURCE: Frigidaire Gas Dryer - Heats for 1-2 minutes then gas shuts off

Most of the time, the culprit is a bad gas valve coil(s). Replace those, and your dryer should return to normal operation.

SOURCE: gas dryer won't heat up

The ignitor can glow and still be defective.
Take a volt meter and check for power at the gas valve while calling for heat.
If you have voltage, replace the coils again.
No voltage, replace the ignitor and flame sensor.

I have an LG gas dryer only 7yrs old. Some loads are coming out still soaked after the cycle has finished. I've looked through the back of the unit and the flame is igniting. However, I have noticed that...

i am not a dryer expert,so i can only make these suggestions.
1.make sure the lint filter is very clean.
2.make sure the dryer is sitting level on the floor.(if it isn't sitting straight on the floor, the clothes may not be touching the sensors, causing the heat to turn on & off while drying.
3 do not overload the dryer with wet clothes.
4.pick the right heat setting for the amount & type of clothes.

Dryer will not stop spinning when door is closed

Good Morning Jeff,

I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire dryer, model# GLGQ2152ES, to stop spinning, even though all the lights are off. It could possibly be the different boards and sensors miscommunicating with each other. I suggest giving the appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes. When you turn the power back on, if the dryer is still spinning, without you wanting it to, I would suggest contacting either the manufacturer or your local authorized technician. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Kits should be available at Sears.com, need to be a certified technician to change it. Involves changing igniter, burner scoop, and adjusting air shutters.

Dryer flame on magtag wont stay lit. Pilot flares up but no flame

Thermocouple is probably bad. The pilot burns and heats a sensor which tells the CPU that the Flame can start, and the thermocouple heating up changes voltage with increase temperature and tells the CPU that the Flame is burning OK. If it is defective, there is no voltage change and the CPU assumes that the Flame didn't start for some reason, (Gas only!) and turns if off for safety. Over and over xx times.

Dryer runs-no heat

I had a problem once with a gas dryer that would come on, the pilot would glow and the flame would run on a shortend cycle. The coil that opens the gas valve had a short circuit that would only short out when it heated up. It would drive me crazy since it appeared to be working. The short cycle time the first time, and then maybe not at all once it was warm gave me mixed signals.
