SOURCE: Ecoquest Freshair unit; fan is intermittent.

Hi Susan,

I have not experienced it but I know that if you bought your FreshAir from a dealer with EcoQuest you are entitled to a 3 year warranty.
Contact the manufacturer EcoQuest at 1-800-989-2299 and choose technical assistance from the menu. You will be guided through some trouble shooting and if needed you will get an RMA number so you can send your unit in for repair.

If you are not in contact with your EcoQuest dealer anymore and the unit has never been registered with the company you need a purchase receipt with the date on it.

Hope this helps!
Eric

SOURCE: Removing Filter from Back of EcoQuest Air Filter

You have to remove the two top screws to take off the filter (lint screen). At least they put in hand-tightening screws in the later models. Make sure you also alcohol-clean the needle ionizer in the front and the radio-wave (round) one on the side! It's crucial to keep the "FAST" dust clearing capabilities!

SOURCE: I cleaned my Ecoquest, it was working fine, how no power

Assuming that the unit was working fine before you cleaned it. Did you remove the back lower panel while cleaning it? It the panel that holds the electrical socket and fuse. If you did, check to see if the electrical connector is seated to the main board. Also check if the keyboard connector (the one that looks like a telephone jack) is plugged into the main board. Also, check if you model has a switch on the back that it is set to the on position. And press the power switch on the front keypad to see if that make the unit work. That all I can think that might have gone wrong.

SOURCE: Hi, I have the Ecoquest SynairG4 and I had to

Somewhere on the front of the machine, between the manual control buttons on the right, is a tiny black button labeled "reset." While the machine is running, hit that button, then turn the machine completely off for a minute. Turn it back on. This should take care of the problem. (It's actually a timed reminder, like the annoying "check engine" light on your car.). If that doesn't do it, call the company at 1-800-989-2299 for further instructions.

My EcoQuest Fresh Air unit stopped working. The fuse seems to be good. It will not turn on. Any suggestions?

A common problem with the Fresh Air when they are not cleaned regularly is heat build up, which may cause circuit board failure. There are two processors on the circuit board which burn out. The circuit board can be repaired rather than replaced at a very reasonable cost and one repair facility will guarantee their work for 1 year. Call toll free (336) 499-2505 between 8: 00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern time and they will gladly help you.

How do I disaasemble the unit to clean the filter inside

There is no filter inside the unit. It's on the back of the unit. Once you remove it, you'll have access to the inside of the air purifier. I think what you wanted to know is, how to clean the plaques inside. Once the filter is removed, you'll see the plaques and they just slide out of their individual holder(s).

Fresh air 2.0: Unit cycles on and off.

The problem is dust or moisture on one or more of the circuit boards, in the bottom of the unit. The problem is usually caused by resetting the cleaning reminder without actually cleaning the machine. ;-) It hasn't been difficult for me to solve so far. Remove the filter. Remove the two screws that hold on the plate where the rear switch is located. The wires are long enough that they don't need to be removed from the switch. Use a blow dryer or dry compressed air to blow off the circuit boards. ****Keep your face out of the way!!! Be sure not to get the blow dryer too close or too hot. If you have a Warm setting, use that. Good luck!

Electrical burning smell

Hello there,

Given your description, I'd say you have a short-circuit. Arcing (sounds like arc-welding, not the gentle buzz of normally-operating discharge plates) indicates a serious problem with the high-voltage side. Since I'm not an electrician, and you probably aren't either, I'd do the following.

1) If it's under-warranty, contact the dealer you purchased them from, or contact Ecoquest directly.

Ecoquest International
310 T. Elmer Cox Drive,
Greeneville, TN 37743
1-800-989-2299

Get and RMA # and proceed according to their instructions.

2) If out-of-warranty, understand you'll need to have someone qualified (either at Ecoquest or a qualified electrician or electronics technician) find the short and repair it, and this will generally cost you something. Request a quote in-advance, and decide how you wish to proceed. On the plus side, Ecoquest will often upgrade/refurbish the hardware inside if they do a repair, so it's sometimes certainly worthwhile.

Good luck.

Make sure you have the filter on the back on the right way and not reversed. On the Ecoquest Breeze you should plainly see the obvious pull tab, at the top of the back filter panel, after putting the filter back in place.

Unit stopped smelling

Whenever you clean or replace the plate, you must also clean the contacts that touch the plate, and all supports for the contacts. Clean them with 70% or higher isopropyl alcohol and Q tips. You should also clean the ionization point with a Q tip and alcohol, remove and clean the fan and oil the fan motor front and rear with a drop or two of sewing machine oil. Replace the fan so that it is flush with the end of the shaft. Make sure that the contacts are firmly against the ozone plate when you replace it. They sometimes barely make contact and then don't work well. You can bend them enough to make them fit firmly.
