Hey guys I own a 2.4L 96 Sunfire GT whose been pretty good to me over the years. Yesterday my car had been working fine all day. Only to sputter then stall while driving! We pulled the car over to the side of the road popped the hood any everything looked alright. Well, to the eye it did. But, I notice now, my car will start and run for about 5-7 seconds then sputter down to die. I notice I no longer get the little fuel pump noise when I set my key to accessory. Would it just die out of no where? The only thing I had done yesterday was finally put some gas into the car. I was sittin at about a quarter tank and ended up fillin' it to 3/4. That's it! Help!!

Well, does this happen often, the engine failure? I'm not there in person, but I can lead you to an article that addresses what seems to be the cause of your car problem, and that is a malfunctioning connector between the electronic control unit and the distributor of the vehicle; here's the article link:

My car problem started 3 days ago, it started with my Toyota security light blinking red, then a key like symbol on ...
Quite possible the voice coils corroded and are stuck...assuming the battery, radio and wiring is okay. Not an uncommon problem when a car sits for a long time. You can check the speakers with a 9v household battery. Attach 2 wires to the speaker terminals and touch to the battery. The cone should jump. Also, press inward on the cones and check for roughness or no movement. Can't be fixed for a reasonable price. Replace them.
I have seen mice eat automotive wiring, especially if the car is stored outdoors. Might want to check that too!
Did the old motor run? Is this a used motor? Did you hear this motor run before you installed it? Have you tried running it with the exhaust unbolted from the manifold?
Before anything else, you need to locate the source of the leak and repair it. Then after that's done, re-fill the system and watch for problems. I suggest you do this sooner than later as running with air in the system can damage components by creating "hot'spots" that can crack head etc or cause warpage and head gasket failure.
I would first verify battery power, Once you have proper power there, either via a good trickle charger or battery replacement, I would check the fuseable links mounted right at the "hot" side of the starter. Just follow the 4 gauge wire from the battery to the 15mm/13mm nut on the starter. Make sure you have power to both sides of the wire with a test light. THis is the only wire that supplies the power for the relay fuse box. So either your not making power, or the power isn't reaching this box. Let me know how you make out.
