Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I an old Facebook account/page my visitors are sent to I can't edit the photo of me or any information on it. It has a link to my new page. Can I just get rid of it and keep the new one?

You can deactivate that account.

  1. Click the account menu at the top right of any Facebook page.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click General in the left column.
  4. Choose Manage your account and then scroll down to click Deactivate your account.
But if you linked your personal account with the page. you must change the administration power to any other personal facebook account first. like your page from that account. then transfer the admin role to that personal account and delete your old account.

You have to remove them as a friend or delete the posts to your site. You can change their relationship to you to get rid of the postings as well.

How do I re register with facebok and get rid of my old account

Deleting an old account, you can find every thing on the support or help page from Facebook. The don't want you to delete the page, and try to lt you put the page to "rest" but then they still can use content in the years to come. To delete you have to explicit go to some pages and the last thing they want you is not to access the page within 14 days. When you only once login to the page, it will be active again and you have to do the procedure again.
I mannaged to delete an old page, I did not use for years, after I fond old pictures from me on th net again.
After you did delete your old account, login (best to a computer you never had your old account running) to the same help page and then click the green square make new account. Give new details and chose a new name. The old name will not yet be available, because ti will take more than 14 days before Facebook will release that name again. Facebook Help Center Facebook

Hi,
it's not recommended by Facebook that you delete your account, but you may de-activate it:

Welcome to FixYa!
To avoid this kind of issue from happening, follow this steps:
  • Open internet explorer.
  • Look on the upper part of the page, along side the toolbars like file, edit, view,etc...,look for the word tools. If its not showing just press F10 on your keyboard it should show up. Click on Tools.
  • Look for internet options and click it.
  • Look for the general tab, under that tab look for delete browsing history and click delete.
  • Put a check mark on all of the boxes, especially for passwords and save forms(this is the reason why its automatically filling up your twitter or facebook) then click the delete all button. And your done.
P.S. when you logged in to any website with a username and password, a pop-up normally come up asking if you want the password to be remembered, just click no. Hope this helps! Thank you for using FixYa!
