Whe I turn on my 2 yr old dryer it has "check filter" light flashing and other lights flicker. When I hit start it runs for about 2 seconds before going off. I noticed the last few times I used it on sensor dry that it would get stuck at 6 minutes and not shut off. Now it no longer works. Help!! (Filter is cleaned after every use) It id LG Tromm DLE2515S

Hi Jill, I had same problem with same dryer model in January of 2008 I just kept trying it and pulling out lint trap and putting it back in and after 2 days it started working again. I think somehow the lint trap was not in alignment and would trigger sensor and shut off dryer afer a few seconds. Yes It is extremely irritating and I don't know that it won't happen again. My dryer is now about 30 months old but the problmem started when it was 2 yrs old Bought it at Best Buy.

My LG Dryer (DLE2516W) will not power up at all. I checked the breaker - no issue. There is weird electrical smell near the dryer. Is there something in the unit that I can replace?

DLE8377WM owned for about a year and a half. Power to dryer is on (the light turns on when the door is open) but the power button will not turn on the super fancy lcd display. What a POS this thing is!!!! Even when it worked, it never dryed very reliably (sometimes very damp). The old kenmore it replaced worked better and in the 13 years I had that one it never had a SINGLE problem. I wish I never purchased this LG washer/dryer. $2700. %$#@$#

Same problem here, light works but no dryer. I fixed the problem though by using a dryer brush & vacuum on the lint collector. Lint trap was packed with lint and after I cleaned out, it worked again. Poor design.

The check filter light comes on when you turn the dryer on and at the end of the cycle. This is normal and is just a reminder. The blinking lights are indicating a problem with the door switch/light switch. Check the connections and replace if necessary.
Sometimes if you have a very short venting run it will not read the sensors correctly so you have to restrict the air flow and it will correct this. Tape part of the outside vent, but only on real short runs.
Inside the door there are two sensors and they can get coated with fabric softener, use a nylon scotch pad and clean them if your sensor dry is not working correctly.
Also clean your lint trap once a year as it can get clogged as well.

SOURCE: My LG dryer will not power up

You may have a broken door switch.  That would be the most likely source of your problem since the machine will not work if the computer senses that the door isn't closed.

is it 110 or 220? if it is a 110 first check your breaker/ fuse panel for tripped breaker or blown fuse if 220 it would be a double breaker. if you find tripped breaker remember some panels require you to turn the breaker fully off then back on to reset. if 110 and no blown breakers, check your laundry room for a GFI (ground fault interrupt) outlet. make sure that it is not tripped either. to reset that just push the reset button on the outlet. best of luck to you

Check voltage at dryer plugin. If no voltage go to breaker panel and reset breaker by making sure you move breaker switch fully to the off position and then you will feel tension as you turn breaker back on.If it kicks back off you will need to turn off main breaker and open dryer outlet and probably clean it out.

Quit heating. when we flipped main breaker and turned it back on the power is not getting from outlet to dryer. What can we do?

This is the most common locations for thermal fuses and heating element on Whirlpool,Kenmore,Estate dryers. Check these fuses for continuity and replace the one that does not have continuityseth765.jpgseth765_0.jpg

While air fluffing some shirts the dryer quit and will not start. is there a breaker or fuse internal to the unit?

Check the breaker in your home's breaker box. The dryer will be the only thing that is on it. It will be a double breaker and looking might not tell you if it has tripped. If it isn't marked just grab the swich and see if it's "wiggly" on each double breaker. If you find a wiggler, flip it all the way over to "off" then back to "on". If the breakers are all fine, the next place to check is the wall outlet itself. If you have a volt meter, first check the slots in the outlet. If you get nothing, pull the wall plate off of the outlet and check the wires leading to the outlet. If they have power, replace the outlet. To the best of my somewhat experienced knowledge, there is no fuse in dryer and I know there is no breaker in it.

I have no power

Check all your breakers/fuses panel if none are tripped or blown we will assume power is @ the outlet, check it w/ a meter if you have one. I have never seen a reset button on one before but there could be a internal fuse inside the unit, to check for that you will have some disassemble work 1st

Kenmore Elite HE3 Dryer PF on control panel,

HI, there may have been a slight power failure within the home breaker unit or the dryer may have lost power to the control for some sort of reason.

I recommend a thorough inspection of the terminal block on the back side of this unit. make sure the power cord is attached tightly and the wall outlet is secure and holding the power cord correctly. if everything looks great with the terminal block and the power cord is plugged in the outlet correctly, simply unplug this unit for 5 minutes to reset the control. after the 5 minutes are up, plug the unit in once more and the PF alert should reset.

Make sure the breaker box in your home is working properly. (the actual breaker switch for the dryer must be in the on position)

Washer won't turn on

Begin by checking to be sure the outlet where you have the washer plugged in has power. you may have blown a fuse or popped a circuit breaker. If no power, either replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker by turning it all the way off and then all the way on.

Whirlpool Cabrio Electric Dryer - No Power

you have to send the model number off of the dryer, also if the dryer hasn't been taken apart and cleaned out also the vent line it could be clogged with lint and you could have popped the thermal fuse or something like that, you'll need a meter, unplug it take it apart and check the t-stats to see if one of them popped,or if it has a belt switch the belt could have broke but if you want to fix it send the model number and more info like any lights coming on but it won't start?if so then you know power is coming to the dryer but it won't start stuff like that.

Hello mdonettaYou said,
Dryer shut off towels were not yet dry, turned dial to restart dryer acts as if it isn't getting power I closed door and pushed start button. Nothing! Checked breakers and power cord at outlet all checked okay. Any ideas.

yes, try unplugging the power cord or turning off the breaker for 5 minutes. Either will due. Some times the system needs to be reset!
If this does not work there are internal fuses that can be replaced!

Let me know how it goes!
