SOURCE: how to reset the meter of lamp

You need to have your Panasonic remote.
1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

PIP for Models:
PT-50LC13/PT-60LC13/PT-50LCX63/
PT-60LCX63/PT-43LCX64/
PT-50LCX64/PT-60LCX64

SPLIT for Models:
PT-43LC14/PT-50LC14/PT-60LC14

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.

SOURCE: Panasonic PT-50DL54J DLP TV Flashing Light

I had the same problems that most of you have been having, tv turning on and off, lights flashing in all different colors, having to unplug tv to reset and all of that good stuff. I noticed that most of the time this would happen once the tv would start to heat up, and I could hear the fan working a little harder. Well I am not an electrician but It was very simple to unscrew the lower bottom park of the tv, where the fan and most of the electronics sit, then I used an oxygen tank ( I work for a medical company ) to blow out all the dust in the tv, ( you can olso use the compressed air use for computer, but if grandma or grampa have some O2 laying around, it works really good, LOL. )and was very surpriced to see how dusty it was, then I removed the MAIN FAN ( you only need to remove three screws, however there's a box in fron of it, which you'll have to remove first in order to get to the fan ). this may sound a little complicated, but trust me it is not, once you have taken the fan off, clean it all the way around ( best to use a clean rag, the compressed air was not doing the job.
long story short, once I cleaned the fan and put it all back together. The TV still didn't work LOL, Just kidding, It has been working perfect for a little over a week.
If I can help in any other way, please e-mail me @ gsierra11@yahoo.com

hope this helps.

If the lamp is actually out - replace it - if the lamp is still working just reset the lamp hours - at 10,000 hours it automatically says that but it is just the lamp time needing a reset.

Do you need a technician to install the lamp bulb for Panasonic PT61LCZ7? Also where can you find that bulb for sale?

Hello
It will be best to change your TVs lamp bulb with the help pf any experienced serivce technician. Normally you can get the bulb from any panasonic spare parts shop nearby you, or at authorised service center of panasonic. It will cost little more when you buy it from the authorised service center, but you can make sure that the part you gets will be genuine one. OK.

My panasonic pt 40lc12 40 inch was on and watching cartoons and made a loud pop and then turned off what is the problem with it just a lamp please help

Check the lamp. It should be a square door for the lamp on the side, back or the front of the TV. Read the user's guide. Make sure to turn the TV off when removing the lamp!. Good luck.

How do I reset the metter for a new lamp?

According to the lamp manual you just need to power the set on with the remote and then press (and hold) the Vol - button on the front of the set, While holding the Vol- button on the front of the set press and hold the PIP button on the remote. HOLD both for more than 5 seconds or until the lamp timer has been reset to 0 appears on the screen.

No screen at all, does not come on.

If you haven't replaced the lamp yet, that is the first thing to try. Its not hard to do at all.

You can get the lamp just about anywhere on the web.
Here is a link to one site
http://lamps-dlp.com/ProductDetail.asp?PartNumber=TY-LA1001&A=G&B=LA1001

Here is the procedure for replacing the lamp.

Unplug the unit from the wall and wait for all the lights to stop blinking. Ensure that the lamp and the area around the lamp has cooled.
Remove the front cover of the set. You should be able to see the lamp door at this time, loosen the screw and remove the door. You will now have access to the lamp, loosen the lamp screws and remove the lamp cartridge. Reverse the above process and you should be back in business.

For the full instructions and how to reset the lamp timer go to the following site
