Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Your Shark vacuum is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If for some reason your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn the unit off. Should this occur, you would need to restart the motor thermostat. Turn off your unit and unplug the vacuum from the power. Clean the filters and dust cup filters. Check for blockages in hose, accessories and inlet openings. Then allow the unit to cool for a minimum of 45 minutes before plugging it back and turning it on.

Shark navigator lift away turns on but no suction

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

It seems that there may be something blocking the airway. To fix this, please make sure to unplugged the unit from the power before performing this.

There are two places where you can check for a blockage: the dust cup air duct and the intake opening behind the brush roll. To check for a blockage in the dust cup air duct stand the vacuum upright and remove the dust cup. Now you can disconnect the super stretch hose and check for clogs in the air duct behind the dust cup. If that is not the case, to check for a clog near the roller brush lay the vacuum down. Next check the opening behind the brush roll for clogs. If there is debris, clean the opening with scissors, carefully cutting away any debris.

If the dust cup is too full, there is no space for the dirt to go when you are vacuuming. To fix this, remove the dust cup and empty the it. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt after emptying the dust cup, keep reading for other options to fix the suction.

If both your foam filter and felt filter have not been cleaned in the past month, this may be why your vacuum has lost suction. To clean the foam and felt filters, remove the dust cup and pull out the two filters that are on the top of the motor base. Rinse the filters with lukewarm water until the water is running clear. Let the filters dry fully before putting them back into the vacuum. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt, you may need to replace it.

If none of the other solutions worked, your motor may be bad. You would need to check with Shark about this.

If your need to replace your Shark parts such as filter, belts or hose, you can also order replacement parts directly to us. You can check our online store in this link: http://www.thinkcrucial.com/search?type=product&q=shark

I want to know WHY my HEPA filter and cover blow off my unit with force each time I turn the unit on and start sweeping...Help?

Vacuum cleaners actually blow air through the filtration system. Over time particles will block the pores in the filter which doesn't allow enough air to pass through it and pressure will build up behind the filter and has to go 'somewhere'. Either clean the filter or replace it, and be certain to properly reinstall the assembly before turning it on.

Are you sure that you are correctly connecting the filter, and flipping the tabs to "lock" it into the "closed" position.

Shark Navigator blowing front filter out of the vacum cleaner.

Dear sir, This is the most likely cause of this problem: Be sure that the top tabs and the bottom lock clip are not damaged. (red arrows on photos of my own unit) These hold the filter in place. If damaged you may try several layers of super glue, or oder replacement part from shark.com parts for this model. good luck.

Shark euro-pro x upright vacuum that shuts down every 15 minutes

These are prone to overheating. The manufacturer put a foam 'filter' wrap around the electric motor. This filter wrap insulates the motor, trapping heat inside, which causes overheating. The motor is very similar in form and function to the one in the Hoover Windtunnel, but the Windtunnel has no filter wrap. It doesn't overheat, and functions fine without it. There is a filter on the intake anyway. It's a redundant filter, and I have removed mine. It works fine now.

If you take the filter out yourself, you will need a special screwdriver for one of the motor cover screws. I guess they don't want the consumers opening it up.

I suggest taking it to a vacuum repair shop and explaining to them the problem, and asking them to remove the filter wrap from the motor.
