Question about JVC HR-XVC27U DVD Player/VCR
I made a dvd video disc and the player can not read it and then gets jammed in machine. It will play movies. I tried various discs, including dual layer discs. Help! We have family movies on discs we are trying to play.

The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!

SOURCE: Inserted disc reading "No Disc"
It looks like you have a bad lens assembly. That explains the "No Disc" error. Just get the lens assembly replaced and it will be back to normal.
