SOURCE: My Acer AL1711 LCD monitor blacks out every 2 seconds

take a flathead screwdriver and place it anywhere where the front bezel and back, you can start on the top, bottom, or either side of the monitor, place your flathead screwdrier and place it in any part of the **** and twist your screwdriver, this should start releasing some of the clips. I had to do this with several dell lcd monitors to get into them. Keep in mind after this there will be more screws to take out to get the lcd out of there.

SOURCE: Acer X223W power supply

the voltage inverters are the small transformers attached to a small pcb, that is connected to the backlight inverter (cold cathode).

Just in case replacing the capacitors did not work, the second thing to do is to check the backlight inverter. If there is busted light, replace this one too..the last thing to check is the high voltage ballast transformer... if one of these is burnt, it is enough to affect the stability of your supply current. It can also result to a dark portion on your screen or worst , could result to a total black screen..

If you can replace this transformer with the same value, please do so.

If this is a help to you.. please rate this solution...thanks.

Testimonial: "No separate PCB's on power supply, but your advice did make me check out the PCB further, so thank you for your advice. I will be undertaking identification of the inverters. On this model the inverters are built into the PCB, above the power supply input. "

You may have high voltage arcing, bad inverter transformers, bad DC filter caps, bad lamp wires. You will have to open it up and inspect the inside first.

I have an ACER 1914 LCD. How can I open to change capacitors

You remove the stand and all the screws, then use the flat blade screw driver to crack open the case, srating at the bottom center and work your way around. When you get the bottom side and the left and right side crack open just enough, lay the monitor face down on soft surface then lift up the back cover to release the top side edge.
Be real careful on the cable attached to the front bezel.
See example here; http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/ACER/

Make sure to replace the caps in a set using low ESR type caps.

White display on my lg flatron L192ws

Most common problems with LCD monitors arises due to weak or damaged capacitors. Disconnect the power and signal supply from monitor, then open the case gently. Use a flat screwdriver for pry opening the case, after removal of screws. Here you have to look for faulty capacitors on the circuit. On the PCB of the monitor, check each capacitor for deformation/leakage around it. In case of any doubt, it's better to replace the capacitor, as they are inexpensive. The only thing is that you should use the correct rating capacitor for replacement. You will need a soldering iron, and at best a multimeter for carrying out the job. After doing all this, assemble the monitor back, and your monitor will be working fine.
Caution : If you are finding yourself uncomfortable with all the work doing yourself, then ask for help from a qualified technical person.

I have a Acer B243W 24" Monitor. There is a vertical neon green line (1x1200 px) on the screen and i have no idea what it is there for and how i can get rid of it. someone might help? thx!

It's there because the connection inside the LCD panel that commands that column is either busted or inactive - it's a hardware fault that cannot be fixed. If it's too much to bear then the entire monitor must be replaced.
