Some thoughts.

Envelopes won't print from bypass tray. Cause:
Extended tray is not set up properly for envelopes. Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. Enter tools "Login" 1,1,1,1,1 Touch buttons with the following names in that order: System Settings System Settings Common Settings Other Settings Scroll down to "Extended Tray" Next to "Extended Tray" it may say "Inverter" if it does go to change settings then change it to "Offset Stacking" Close out tools.

The tray won't close

Look for an obstruction or incorrect assembly of the tray or debris containers on the tray. On some models if the brewing mechanism has not returned to the start position you cannot replace the tray. Such a shame you were unable to supply any information to help us to help you.

My printer says I have paper jam, please remove. but i have only been able to remove partial pieces. How do I get at the rest left in a spot I can not reach

Here's a link from which you should be able to download the online manual with a troubleshooting section that includes specific instructions on clearing a paper jam. See also this page, as I have no great confidence in the links I get from canon, their website is so backwards. If you choose the service and support option, then ask "how do I clear a paper jam" you'll see the instructions they offer.
Issue: Paper is jammed inside the printer
Solution: Remove foreign object from paper feed area (MP130)

Remove foreign object from paper feed path If error message
  • [PLEASE CLEAR PAPER JAM AND PRESS [OK]] or
  • [CHECK PRINTER]
is displayed, follow this procedure to remove paper or obstructions from the machine. Clearing Jams In The Paper Output Tray:
  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out of the Paper Output Tray.

  2. Press .

  3. If you cannot see any jammed paper in the Paper Output Tray, remove it from the machine's interior.
    1. Press to power off the machine.
    2. Lift up the Scan Unit until it locks into place.
    3. Open the Paper Output Tray.
    4. Look in the print area for an obstruction (such as a paper clip, staple, tape, etc.) and then remove it.

  4. If you are printing from an application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer.
Clearing Jams From The Auto Sheet Feeder:
  1. Gently pull out any jammed paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder.

  2. Press .

  3. If you are printing from an application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer.

Sorry I can't offer you much more, but just try to get all the bits out. Sometimes a pointy tool on a vacuum will help. Otherwise, maybe you can wrap and tape a post-it note around a popsicle stick or something to reach the paper and try to coax it out, or maybe a bit of folded tape on the end of a ruler or something like that. Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

How do I add more staples to a Panasonic Electric AS-302N stapler

I have one right here. Push the button in the back (above where the power cord enters the machine.) The tray holding the strips of staples should pop out of the front of the machine. If it doesn't, try grasping under the staple tray and gently pull the tray out while pushing the button in back.

The button is a release button, while the tray is spring loaded to pop out..

Error message E000542-8002

Hello Im,
This error code indicates there is a problem with your { finisher, stapler, collater different folks have different names} and has put your device into what's called "LIMITED FUNCTIONS" mode. This mode should not absolutely disable your use of the device, but will limit the funtionality of it as it the copier "sees" a problem with the stapler.By merely turning off the MAIN POWER, which should have happened as you followed the shutdown sequence, the copier should have come back up and allowed you to use the basic functions. Now to the problem. The output tray for the finisher attempted to move down and despite several tries could not. The ouput tray will try to move down to find it's "home" position for a few reasons. When the jam clearence doors are opened and closed, when the machine is powered up from being completely off, or as the copies/sets build up in the output tray and it needs to move down to make room for additional copies. Usually an obstruction (trashcan, box etc ) blocks its movement and its not a genuine hardware failure (fingers crossed). So lets see if we can fix it. The first thing to do is make sure the main power(located on the right side of the device towards the rear a little past halfway down) has been turned off and then back on. Once it returns to READY locate the "ADDTIONAL FUNCTIONS" button located to the right of the display. press it,and you will see a menu. The top left ICON will say COMMON SETTINGS. Press it. Now scroll down till you see LIMITED FUNCTIONS. Press it. It probably says ON. Select OFF. Hit the OK button at the lower right corner. Now power the the copier off again the same way you did before , having checked that there are no obstructions to the stapler output tray. If we are lucky it should come to a READY and no limitations. Please take 2 sheets of paper and put them in the automatic document feeder and select staple. If it completes the task Then "YOU B FIXED".I do so hope this is the case !!!! If I have helped you please let the folks at "FIXYA " know so I can get a pat on the head as I have sure have tried. I wish you well. :-)

I get a Staple Detect error each time I try to scan a page. I've checked all of the rollers; they are fine. There are no staples anywhere in the picture. Can I turn Staple Detection off?

I presume you are using CpaturePerfect3 Scanning software. There is an option to stop checking of 'staples'.
In Canon 9080C staples are NOT detected by any metal detector! You'd notice a set of LEDs on one side and a set of sensors on the opposite side of the scanner wall, just above the paper tray. Incase there is a document thats stapled, while one sheet is going in, the other sheet will get lifted because of staple. Thus when there is obstruction in the LED sensor, it is presumed to be a stapled document. Conversely, even if a document is bent enough to block the sensors, the scanner assumes it as a stapled document. Ensure your documents are fairly flat.

Ruppled printed paper cannot exit output tray

you need do follow steps:
1) check fuser unit, the fuser hot roller is hot or not? if not the fuser heater fail.
2) check hot roller should spin with the pressure roller which is against hot roller, and check there is no gap between them, and also nothing pieces paper obstruct there, because if it losts pressure balance that jam should be occured there.
3) check the output roller after fuser unit(if there is), check them are spin or not, this roller kit use for pull the paper goes out the tray. if not spin means the roller drive belt or gear loosen.
3) check paper sensor that is micro swtch around pulling roller or output area and to clean it (could be a optical sensor).
hope help you something fixed, please take a rating let me know how much helped you thanks! keep in touch your question

Can not get the output tray to use the finishing tray.

Do you mean you have internal finisher? Try to make any copy with staple it should comes out from there, if not you have to go to machine setting or copy setting , you do this by pressing menu buttom, and change the output paper to the internal finisher.

Let me know wat happen after.
