Re: w810i

DO not turn it on, youl fry the chips

dismantle it if you have the tool, put everything in the freezer (battery, keyboard) try not put the screen in

take it out once frozen and leave it in Sunlight.

I dropped my treo pro in the toilet and got it out instantly and took out the battery and dry it. It worked fine but after a few mintues, the screen is just dark and won't light up. I can vaguely make out...

Even if it is a split second, liquid has a better than avaerage chance of getting to parts that liquid should never touch in electronics. If you turned in on after a few minutes and not putting in something to absorb the mositure for a day or two, better than a good patting down, it is possible that turning it on with liquid inside the phone could hace short circuited the display and/or other parts. Like I said, it does not take liquid long to get to areas you can not dry externally. It is possible that if there were more than water in the toliet, that it could hace left a reidue as well causing a short. Check with your cell phone store or repair shop for a diagnostic.

My son Dumped some kind of liquid on my LG Rumor and now it is white screened.

Please take note; once a phone drops into water or any liquid, first thing you need do is to remove the battery, get a phone screw driver, loose the phone and dry the phone board with bulb or any heat.

The essence is to dry the water totally from the board, because if it dries itself, the phone board will get rust and phone might not work properly again.

Back to your phone, I think the liquid as entered your screen and its not dry yet, that's why its white.

Put off the phone, remove the battery and leave the liquid to dry on the screen or put is near a very light heat and the liquid will gradually dry off.

Try it, it will work.

Take care.

I drped my phone in toliet

Open as much of it (battery cover, flip open), as you can and remove the battery. Mop dry with tissue/cotton bud for the cracks and then leave on a sunny windowsill for a few days without trying anything else. Then reassemble, recharge and give it a go.

Two Problems: battery is drain fast & PC interface don't work, software

It sounds like the most common issue I see with cellular phones today, liquid damage, the handset needs to be dried out completely for there to be any chance of success, use gently dry moving air flowing over and around the phone for several hours and clean any place you see corrosion with 99.9% rubbing alcohol and a medium tooth brush and dry again for a good long time, this may solve your problem but it may also be too late, remember if your phone gets even one drop of water in it it can be totally destroyed! Cheers!

Wet Phone

Sometimes you can save them by not turning it on and putting it in the hot water cuboard for couple of days, but if you have tried turning it on already... well sorry mate its got liquid damage and thats the worst thing you can do to a phone . Best advice replace it.
