Question about LG Televison & Video
The directions about pressing home on remote control and scroll to setup options, then scroll to lock (do not scroll sideways) press zero seven times a message appears then press enter. This did not work at all for me, I tried it but no message appeared or anything else. When you scroll to lock it has a section to the side of this which says Area code - It sets the country code according to the country which manufactured the disc. This is already set to GB, but I managed to get into this and you are able to change these letters to whatever you want but it only has letters in there which still does not help me with my problem as I need it to be region free how can I change this?? Can anyone help?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You can find out by testing it, no harm done. But Its not guaranteed.
1 Use the remote
2 Press HOME
3 Move to SETUP
2 Scroll down to LOCK (no need to enter LOCK options)
3 Press '0' seven times
A message that confirms that the player is region free will appear on the screen!
it has been reported to work on some LG models.

SOURCE: II can't unlock my philips
You need to make sure that you do the #8243 step
To change your DVD region settings try the following:
Turn on player with no disk inserted
Press "Open/Close" on the remote control
Press "259″ on the remote control
After enter the code 13893108520 again on the HOME Screen and the player will show region "0"
Now the buttons on the front of the player do not work anymore.... You will need to go to SETUP and click on RESET FACTORY SETTINGS....
Wait until the player restarts and now you can play all DVD regions
