Garmin 12CX - Memory battery problem

I bought the 12CX in July of last year and it's been great. Recently
however "Memory battery is Low" has been displayed at turn on.

The main batteries have never been allowed to become flat in the unit.

Is this a warranty job? If so, is there any way to back up my
waypoints and restore them later?

Hi Mike,
Sounds like you need to contact Garmin UK for a bit of warranty work.

Yep. And a fairly common problem too. I gather Garmin received a bad
batch of batteries at some point and they're now revealing themselves.

Yep. With waypoint management software on your PC, and a data cable.
I had the same battery problem though, and my G12CX came back from
Garmin with my waypoints in tact. No problems... and no charge.
