I know that 95 durometer EVA is available from other sources like shoe findings suppliers. This is about 1/2" by 1" by 1.5" and if a mechanic was able, he could fix you up with that. If that is what you need, they could help you out without having to replace the whole assembly.

How do u replace the passenger side quarter glass on a 02 Chevy Tahoe LS

First you have to "cut" the old one out. There are a couple of tools to do this. "Piano wire". (its actually a small diameter cable you pull back and forth that cuts the gasket) Blade (pnuematic powered tool that slices through the urethane) Once you have the old glass out, remove all of the old urethane, and apply new urethane. Comes in a tube, pretty much like caulking. Press it in place, put some painters tape all around it so it doesnt slide before the urethane dries and thats it. Sounds easy, and it is if you are in the business. You can get the glass cheap from a salvage yard. If its a nice Tahoe, I would recommend getting Safelite or other glass installer to do it. EZ to scratch up your paint with the wire, and the pnuematic tool will set you back more than the install would cost.

Fixed glass is placed against a bead of urethane sealer, like caulking.

ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif WARNING: SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES MUST BE WORN.
ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Use only urethane for after-seal to service air and water leaks in urethane seal. Failure to do this may result in additional leaks.
ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Allow all glass parts installed with urethane ample time to cure. If ample time is not allowed, glass may come loose and/or leak.
  1. Remove window wiper pivot arm (17526) .
  1. Remove all window glass stops.
  1. Using Rotunda Glass Adhesive Cutter 118-00050 or Rotunda Deluxe Glass Adhesive Cutter 163-00001 or equivalent, follow manufacturer's instructions and cut seal and dam around entire outer edge of windshield glass (03100) .
  1. Remove glass from vehicle.
  1. Trim urethane left on flange with a utility knife or razor blade until surface is smooth and free of cuts. It is not necessary to remove all urethane from the flange if it is cured. However, at no point should existing urethane material exceed 2.54mm (0.10 inch). NOTE: If urethane has not cured completely, remove all uncured urethane using care not to smear urethane on component parts.
Check flange sealing area for damaged sheet metal or foreign objects which may have caused, or may cause, glass breakage. Service sheet metal if necessary.
Installation
  1. If existing urethane on metal flange has become contaminated, cut away contaminated urethane with a utility knife or razor blade.
  1. If painted sheet metal has been exposed anywhere along the flange, apply Urethane Metal Primer WSB-M2G234-C or equivalent over the painted surface using a clean brush. NOTE: A minimum of 30 minutes is required for primer surface to dry.
  1. Place the windshield glass on a low, stable work surface, inside up. NOTE: Wipe off immediately after application because it flash-dries.
  1. Using a lint-free cloth, wipe outer 25mm (1 inch) of inside glass periphery with Urethane Glass Wipe WSB-M5B280-C2 or equivalent.
  1. Position mouldings on glass. ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Allow all glass parts installed with urethane ample time to cure. If ample time is not allowed, glass may come loose and/or leak.
  1. Thoroughly shake and stir Urethane Glass Primer WSB-M2G314-B or equivalent to ensure uniform pigment mixing.
  1. Using a clean brush, apply primer around entire periphery of glass on inside surface as shown. (Allow at least five minutes drying time.)
  1. Properly align glass to body.
    1. Make sure lower windshield glass stops are in place at bottom of windshield glass opening.
    1. Place windshield glass into opening. Center it top and bottom, side to side, with about equal clearance around opening.
    1. Using masking tape or crayon, make alignment marks at points on both the windshield glass and the window opening.
  1. Remove windshield glass from vehicle and place back on work table.
  1. Apply an even bead of Urethane Adhesive WSB-M2G316-B on top of existing urethane around entire window opening using an air pressure cartridge gun. Air line pressure should be around 276 kPa (40 psi). The bead should be large enough to seal the windshield glass but not cause expulsion into vehicle.
  1. Install windshield glass onto vehicle, taking care to align marks on glass to those on body. This must be done within 10 minutes of applying urethane.

How do I replace the back window?

Remove the black vinyl trim from the edge of the glass. Remove broken glass & urethane adhesive from the metal pinchweld leaving a thin layer (approx 1/16") of urethane for new new urethane to adhere to. Vacuum broken glass. Prime nicks to the metal to protect from rusting (also insuring a good surface to bond to). Attach vinyl reveal molding to glass (unless it's a "T" shaped push in type - it would install after the glass is set). Clean and prime the replacement glass. Apply new urethane adhesive. Set glass in place.Slide the metal joint cover in place on the molding (at bottom in the center). Clean outer surface of glass. Allow for safe drive away as noted by urethane manufacturer.

  1. Remove the rear quarter window glass.
  1. Using a soft brush or vacuum, remove any dirt or foreign material from the pinch weld.
Installation
ani_caut.gif CAUTION: When installing urethane installed glass parts, the vehicle must not be driven until the urethane adhesive has cured. At temperatures above 21°C (70°F) and relative humidities above 50%, adequate cure time is typically 24 hours. (Refer to Essex drive away chart for the cure times as temperatures and humidity vary.) Inadequate or incorrect curing can adversely affect the retention of the quarter window glass.
  1. NOTE: Avoid scratching the pinch weld.
Trim the remaining urethane adhesive. The urethane adhesive must be smooth and free of cuts and contamination after trimming. Avoid touching the urethane adhesive after preparation.

If installing a new rear quarter window glass, apply urethane glass prep twice around the glass surface to be urethaned.
  1. If installing a new rear quarter window glass, apply urethane glass primer to the same area that was prepped in the previous step. Allow 5 minutes to dry.
  1. Cut the urethane adhesive applicator tip to specification.
