SOURCE: How do I reset Canon MG 4170 ink level

I have not used your particular model of printer or these specific cartridges, but the UK versions of these cartridges cannot have the ink level estimate reset. However it is not necessary to do so to continue using these cartridges.

Instead when the cartridge believes it is empty the printer will ask for a prompt from you in order to continue printing (usually in a rather lengthy message). We made a short video on the subject:

Error code 16

Hi there .the error e1.6 on Canon Multifuntionals ( MP, MG , MX ) is :
DESCRIPTION:
Ink has run out.
SOLUTION:
Replace the ink cartridge and close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover).
If printing is in progress and you want to continue printing, press the Stop/Reset button for at least 5 seconds with the ink cartridge installed.
Then printing can continue under the ink out condition.
The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled.
Replace the empty ink cartridge immediately after the printing.
The resulting print quality is not satisfactory, if printing is continued under the ink out condition.
I hope this information will help you

I keep getting mssg : check printer error 5B00. i found the answer to this, its about ink or something. after i clean the pad, and i connect the printer again, but i still get the same problems..... some...

Hi guys, Error code 5B00 indicates absorber full error. To fix this problem you need to reset waste absorber counter and replace waste ink absorber. Unfortunately you don't write the printer model so I cannot write reset procedure here.
