Hi Britney, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC25 is a powerful upright vacuum, so it sounds very odd if it doesn't seem to have any suction. I'm not sure if you've just assembled your machine for the first time, but if so you may want to check our Getting started guide below to make sure all components have been assembled correctly.

If you're still concerned your machine isn't working correctly after trying this, please get in touch with us directly so we can help further. You can reach our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). Most performance issues are very simple to resolve, so I'm confident we can help.

Where do you put attachments to make them work?

There is a button on the handle that releases the suction tube from the floor brush housing. Once the suction tube is released from the brush assembly, you can install the attachments on the suction tube.

Why does the suction stop after 10 minutes of use on my Dyson DC43?

Your vacuum may be overheating and shutting off the suction motor. Clean the cyclone assembly and the filters to see if they could be restricting the airflow.

How do you turn off the hose suction when using the floor vacuum?

Hi! There is no way to reduce the suction in the vacuum. The hose should be assembled on both ends when using the vacuum on floors. You can reduce the suction by raising the 5-level height adjustment. Hope this helps!

The vacuum does not pick up either dry or liquid. It seems like there is a loss of suction.

This is commonly caused by either a worn out squeegee on the nozzle, or a broken wheel assembly. To check the wheel assembly, turn the machine over and look for breakage where the assembly attaches at the rear. Another common problem is that the clear plastic cover over the filter has been misplaced. There should be a rectangular cover with a round hole in it covering the filter on the lower tank. Without this cover in place there is no suction to the pick-up tank.

No suction to the canister

Sounds like you have a blockage somewhere. I would take the hose off the canister and test for good suction. if ok then you have an issue with the hose and wand assembly. follow this to determine where you lose suction.

Is the suction tubing in the head assembly clogged, is the belt broke? If the if the belt looks good the brush may be turned off and you may need to turn the brush switch on.

HOOVER FLOOR MATE WILL NOT SUCTION WATER

There are no belts. If it makes the noise with the brush assembly removed the motor drive assembly is bad. It ia a complete assembly that can easily be replace by a repairman or ypouself if you are cleaver with tools. Good luck.
