Why when I turn the hot taps on I get milky water out of the hot taps and its a new HWS Vulcan 250 lit electric single element only 3 months old

Put that water in a glass and let it sit for a couple of hours. If it clears up, it is air bubbles. The old unit most likely had mineral deposits on the elements and they insulated the water from micro heating that creates the bubble. Since the unit is new, the water is in direct contact with the heating elements and micro bubbles are forming on the elements. When you turn the hot water on, the turbulence washes the bubbles out.

Diagnosis Electric Hot Water Tank Problems and Repair It

I understand that you electric hot water tank is not producing hot water. To diagnosis the problem we will need a few tools. Here is a list of the tools you will need.

Multi-meter
Screw driver (Flat and Philips)
¼ inch nut driver or ratchet and socket
5/16 inch nut driver or ratchet and socket

Diagnosis Electric Hot water tank problems:

1. First you will need to remove the service panels on the side of the hot water tank to expose the thermostat and heating elements. Careful as power is still on to the unit. Now that you have removed the service panels we need to proceed to the next step.

2. On the thermostat there are two wires coming into the top two screws these are line one and line two they are the main power feed. Take your probes from the multi-meter and touch to each screw and you should receive a reading of 220 volts. If you receive this reading then move to the next step. If you do not get a 220 reading then your breaker is tripped or bad.

3. Got the proper power then you will want to check the thermostat reset button. In the middle of the thermostat is a red button press it in and see if it clicks. If the button clicks it means that the thermostat has tripped do to over heating. Wait an hour and see how your hot water is doing. If still the same replace the thermostat.

4. Use your multi meter to check for power to the heating elements. The heating elements have two screws with wires on them. You will want to take one probe to each screw and see what the VAC reading is (if power is present you should receive 220 volts) if you do not get the correct reading then the thermostat needs replaced. You will need to do the same thing to the lower element.

5. To check the heating elements turn off the power to the unit at the breaker. Check to make sure the power is off by using your meter at the thermostat. Remove the wires off of the element and check it for continuity if not continuity then the element is bad and needs replaced.

Replacing the Thermostat

1. Turn off the power.
2. Label and remove all wires from the thermostat
3. Pull clips forward on sides and pull thermostat upward to remove
4. Install new thermostat in reverse

Replacing the Element(s)

1. Turn off power to the unit
2. Turn off water to hot water tank and drain
3. Remove element from tank
4. Slide new element in tank
5. Turn water supply on and check for leaks
6. Reconnect wires
7. Turn on hot water faucet some where in the house to allow air to escape from tank.
8. Turn power on once hot water tank is full.

Window unit heater blows but dont get hot

To get proper heat, keep your temp setting at + 5 degreethan your room temp and also mode in "heat "position. If still no heat, check your heating sensorfor closed circuit by an OHMs metre. It it's with RV, check power to RV.Ifit's with heating element check power to element. If power is there but stillno heat means element defective. Replace new heating element. Thanks.

New Rheem electric 50 gallon not heating

Check the elements, if you have access to a meter to check them. If they are getting power to elements and you have no hot water.
The elements are not working correctly. I had some elements check out ok till the thermostat's turned on and the elements didn't heat.
Sounds like the elements are bad.

Does not get hot. New heating element and still won't get hot?

The problem will be either in the thermostat or the thermal cut- off, if so installed. look for a fusable link in the power line to your heating element, and see if any power is coming through it.

I have a GE Single Wall electric oven.(JTP25SOH2) The heating elements just stop getting hot. unit is about 4 years old purchased brand new. first the broiler stop getting hot then the baking heating...

First your broiler heating element may have gone bad and now you oven heating element may have gone bad. Using an OHM meter disconnect them and test for their value.Full scale on the meter means it is shorted. No meter movement means that it is open.Eitehr means to obtain a new element(s) and replace it/them.

Dryer

hi Electric heating elements, found in electric dryers, are self-contained units located in the back of the dryer. A defective heating element is frequently the source of no-heat or drying problems. Remove the back service panel to gain access to the elements.
Step 1: Remove the back of the dryer. If necessary, also remove the cabinet top.
Step 2: Disconnect the leads and remove the screws that hold the duct in position. Then lift the entire heater unit out of the dryer.Step 3: Remove the screws that hold the heating element in the duct.
Step 4: Slip the new heating element into the heating duct the same way the old one came out. Be careful not to damage the resistance coils. Replace the screws that hold the heating element in the duct, reconnect the leads, and screw the unit back into position.
now see whether it is ok..............

Not blowing hot air anymore

there are two thermostats..one above and one below the heating element..they probably need to be replaced..about 30 bucks canadian..have the shop check your heating element for resistance I had the same problem with my Whirlpool, when I called around for prices one shop suggested the thermostats and then tested my element for conductivity. When it passed he sold me the thermostat replacements(they are sold in pairs) They were very easy to install, just make sure the wires are on correct..Check for small marks beside the leads and then match them up while removing old and installing new. I hope this helps
