Cd player reads error then rejects cd

The laser is unable to read the information on the disc, could be due to fingerprints or smudges on the disc.
1 Clean the disc with isophropyl alcohol which is available from
chemists or supermarkets. Get a spray one if available, if not apply liberally to a cleaning cloth and clean the disc from center outwards in a straight line. (not in circles). NB Always check the ingredients you want 100% if you can but if not the higher the better.
2 You can purchase a cleaning disc kit from most music stores because the laser focusing eye may need cleaning as well. Good to do this every few months anyway.
3 The laser may be faulty and replacement may be required or purchase a new player.

Model xbr616 dvd recorder/video cassette recorder unknown disc. check the disc again ( problem )

You are not alone...Some DVD players wont read the DVD s and
then it show no disc..

it generally happens when you want to play "A copied DVD/CD " taken from somewhere else..
Just to make sure that such DVD is ok ,you can try to run them on your laptop. If the disc has problem laptop does not read either..
if your set has still under warranty ,consult to service they may replace the LASER EYE.. ("cross your finger ! " )..most of the time Laser Eye malfunctions...

Just in case, quick remedy ,I recommend to buy a "wet DVD/CD laser cleaner " from any is available at Electronic Stores ..And clean the laser eye at least twice..
YOUR DVD itself should be clean and finger prints free as well....
Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me

SAVV LOH-5120 The disc drive does not accept discs, ejecting them after failing to recognise them. I have tried cleaning the lense but to no avail. Is there anything I can do or do I need to get a...

Seems that the head is not working, there is no laser scanning and the possibility that the laser head can be defective.
Now certain cleaner disks will not be tracked to run for cleaning as it is not read. Hence it will reject. So it is ideal to clean manually the laser head eye using a cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.
If there is no result then watch if the CD spins or tries to spin. If so the board seems to work unless a test is taken on the main board but the possibility of a defective optical head can be the suspected fault.
If any of the above seems otherwise we must recheck with possibilities of a malfunction of the main processor board

My dvd-rom doesn't read any dvd

Put in an ordinary CD and play to notice if the CD is detected or is trying to read- you can hear spinning noise. If so but there is no files read then the possibility that the laser head can be defective or dirty.
It is ideal to clean manually the laser head eye using a cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.
If drive does not work try reinstalling the drivers.

If this wont work the drive can be faulty and needs a replacement.

When putting a CD/DVD in , my LG laptop says "there is no CD/DVD in". My internal CD/DVD deice is " HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA"

Hello if you could remove the dvd drive then reinstall it this could solve your problem as it could just be a poor connection this tends to happen on notebooks if not the drive laser eye might be dirty and you can use a disc cleaner to clean the laser eye if this does not you might have to look at replacing the the dvd drive

My xbox360 won't read disc, spins for awhile and

The best bet is to try and clean the laser, if the unit is under warranty, contact microsoft and send it back, if not, dont use a laser cleaning kit, they are useless at cleaning and excellent at spreading the grime over the eye. Open the case, an online guide will help you learn the art of pulling apart the xbox, dis-assemble the dvd drive assembly and clean the laser using a cue tip or cotton bud. Good Luck.

No disc

I will assume you have tried several different DVDs. Try a CD also. I have found that this is caused by either the laser eye needs cleanning or has gone bad. Try cleaning the eye gently with a clean/dry Q-tip. Otherwise, the laser drive will have to be replaced.
