Did it do the shutdown process or just all of sudden go black? I would try another power adapter/charger sometimes they just go bad. If you know the adapter is working and you get no lights @ all its probably something internal like the power jack or motherboard.
Try uninstalling the DVD drivers from , Device manager 1 .click on start menu 2. right click on computer 3. clcik on properties then click on device manager 4 you can see dvd driver listed 5 click on the + or triangle on the left side of it so that it would drop down 6 right click on dvd drive then click on Uninstall 7.
