SOURCE: I have a Canon S820

well..this is a bit tricky..each monitor has a temperature setting, among other things. So, to tweak this sort of item takes quite a bit of understanding. I recommend that you bone up on the canon first, then backtrack through your monitor settings, then to Photoshop.

How do I print artwork getting all the colors to render accurately, so that it looks like the original painting.

Unfortunately you screen (computer or other ) isn't calibrated.
there is software mostly pro use this, but take a picture of a flat grey placard.
using your photo program to check the gamma settings and modify them until the grey on screen matches placard ( hold placard next to monitor). Then print out grey image.
important write down the gamma settings and when you put something to print check to see if these are close.

The printer is not printing the same colours that are on the screen

How different is the color from the printer with the screen? If, you can see yellow, but the printer prints a shade of green, then your ink (particularly the cyan color) may be leaking. Check your ink cartridges if there are leaks. If there are none, try printing blocks of colors and see if the colors match with the screen. If they don't match, maybe try using a different monitor and see if the problem persists.

Color doesn't look like what is on computer screen... printing from InDesign and Photoshop... same results from each program.

first of all, your screen is probably not correctly calibrated to show the colors right. Same goes for your copier, try calibrating the colors. Press the menu button (it's a button next to the screen, looks like a star with a head around it)

- Then press Adjustments/Cleaning
- Auto Gradation Adjustment
- Full adjust
- Print page 1
- Put the paper on the copyglass, with the black toner facing the back of the machine.
- Press Scan
- Then Print page 2
- Scan page 2
- Print page 3
- Scan page 3.

Now the colors are calibrated. If it still doesn't match, try calibrating your computers screen so you can see the real colors.

Colors don't match, or even come close to the screen. There are many options in the print menu, which is best? I print from Photoshop, CS3, on premium glossy stock

You will rarely get what you see on the screen without lots of experiment. The reason being that your screen is Backlit, so what you see is not what you are going to get. Often that pic that has a nice glow appears quite ordinary and even darker when printed. Print thumbnail first and then alter parameters and print thumbnails again till you get as close to the onscreen pic as you can.

also use some of the customizable features in PRINT properties when you send it to the printer

When I print color with my Dell 3100cn the color does not match what I see on the screen. I somehow need to make what prints match the monitor. HELP!

In general the color on the screen is never exactly the same as the printer. You will have to play with the colors on the screen and test the output to see if it is what you really want.

I have an R2880 printer that has given me great results printing out of photoshop cs4 using a LaCie crt monitor. I changed to a Dell 2408wfp monitor and all my photo prints now come out dark. I have...

Print and screen color matching is HORRIBLY difficult. It could be a case of old ink, humid air, poor calibration, or different qualities of paper (when comparing two prints).

For best, most consistent products, go to a professional photo finisher/print shop.

Printing issues with Epson r285

hi! try this! 1. go to control panel, select the printer, then right click the model of your printer, select properties, then select printing preferences.    in printing preference, select effect, then check the box of vivid photos. If you check vivid photos it will add enhancement to your printout. But thats not it, 2. open your photoshop, find your color settings, set your RGB color to (sRGB IEC61996- 2.1) then you CMYK color to (U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2) then off all your Color-management Policies and don't mind anything. 3. After your Edit your photos from RGB, then convert it to CMYK, then try printing it.

Royal blue / navy blue on the screen prints out looking purple

ahem...well..this has a lot to do with the rgb to cmyk issues on the transforms. You may need to see if the Photosmart is compatible with the Adobe Photoshop C2 transforms..

6. ¨supported / recommended¨ epson paper & inks
7. another computer (to pin down where issue is happening)
