SOURCE: Upgrading graphics card onto gx280 motherboard

You need to find a "PCI Express" video card. Your Motherboard does not have an AGP slot. There are lots of them to choose from. Better to pay more now and get more memory on the video card than to regret the purchase and buy another one. IMHO

SOURCE: asrock p4i45gv not detecting hd 3650 agp card

Take the new card out and reconnect the monitor to the on-board VGA. Boot up press F2 and enter the bios. Look for resource configuration and set the Primary Graphics Adapter as AGP.
Save and switch off. Disconnect the PC from the mains, fit the new card and attach the monitor cable to the new card.
Make sure to attch a power connecter to the card if it needs it.
Reconnect the PC to the mains switch on and hopefully away you go.

Best of luck.

AsRock Motherboard

Hello,
First of all, not all the time memory is bad it gives a beep. So you might still want to verify that it's not the memory. Try the memory in another cpu or try another memory in your cpu.

If you have verified that the memory is not the issue, then your next culprit is the video card. Make sure the video card is working. Take it out and clean the contacts with a clean piece of cloth and then reseat it properly.

Please let me know when you have verified the above recommendation and if it works or not.

Thanks and good luck

Acer monitor does not get signal every time

If anything try updating the video card drivers. That's what it sounds like, or the monitor is going. The next time the monitor fails to start, just unplug from the input and put back in. If it starts you are looking at a bad power booster on the board. You can also try pluging in another monitor or try that monitor on a different machine. This way you can eliminate which is bad. I had flat panels and crt's go on me and they usually start by this symptom. It shouldn't be the BIOS, if it's been working right along, same with the processor, it either works or doesn't, it's a monitor scenario.

Graffics accelerator failure

Hi Carpeteddy,
The ASRock K7VT6 motherboard does not have a intergrated graphics card onboard. So your 1.5V, AGP8X / 4X card needs replaced. It wouldn't hurt to uninstall the AGP's driver software, reboot the system & re-install the software. Check the manufactures web site for updated driver software before replacing it.

Here is a link to an XFX 1.5v AGP card:

The good part of XFX is its warranted for life!

Good luck Carpeteddy!
