Go to finder and applications folder, then drag the icon to the dock. After it's in the dock, ctrl+click on the icon and go to "keep on dock"

  • 2 Identify the bookmarks you would like to keep and the ones you would like to delete. Safari has a bookmarks bar and a bookmarks pull-down tab. I deleted my safari app by mistake and now I can't browse the Internet (unless I follow a link from an e-mail). How to I get the app icon back?

Safari is in the Applications folder on your disk drive. Using the Finder, navigate to the Applications folder (it's listed in the left side bar) and find Safari. Click and drag the Safari icon onto your dock and release. Voila.

How to find safari icon on mac

its the little blue icon in the very far top right corner. its a little spy glass.
just type in safari in the search bar and it will look for it for you.
then if you want to save it to your dock (the place where all the applications are stored for easy access) right click the little compass or in this case for macs ctrl click the compass and click "keep in dock."
that way you can just click the icon rather then have to search for it every time.
    :)

The safari option has disappeared from the bottom of my screen

You have probably just deleted the icon off your dock at the bottom of the screen. What to do is to go to the applications folder find safari and then just drag it onto the dock and that will give you the safari icon back on the dock. Hope this helps.

I lost my web browser. how do i get it back

The standard Mac browser is called Safari. You can find it in the Applications folder on your MacBook.

Open a Finder window by double-clicking on the hard drive in the upper right corner of the desktop. You should see several folders in this window, including Applications, Library, System, and Users.

Double-click on the Applications folder. Scroll down until you find the Safari icon which looks like a compass. If you click on this and hold the mouse button down, you should be able to drag it to the Dock on the bottom of your screen. Hold it over the space between two other icons, and when they move apart, release the button. This will add it to your Dock.

From there, you should be able to simply click on the icon to start the browser.

This method will work with whatever application you want on the Dock.

I cant connect to safari or itunes in imac OS X. A question mark symbol appears in both icons, I am able to connect to internet via windows lap top however.

I am taking it when you talking about icons it is the ones in the dock. What I think is happening is these icons have lost their association with the relevant applications. To get rid of the icons click and hold down the icons in the dock and then drag them onto the desktop this will delete the icons not the applications from the dock.

Now go to your applications folder and check that itunes and safari are in the folder. Once you have found them just single click on them and then drag them onto the dock. This should correct the problem.

If the applications are not in the folder you will have to download them from apple site again and reinstal them. Then you can use the method above to put the icons back on the dock.

    Hope this helps.

How do i restore safari browser when i lost the icon

What do you mean by "lost the icon"? If it's not in the dock anymore, but still on your hard disc, you probably just dragged the icon out of the dock. Go to your Applications folder an drag the icon back in your Dock. – You can also use Spotlight (upper right corner, menu bar) to search for Safari.

My mac book pro now has two safari icons. one on the dock and one on the screen. i can't get rid of one of them, please help.

If you want to get rid of the Safari icon on your dock:
just click on the Safari icon and drag it away from the dock, then let go of the icon.
    It should just disappear.

If you want to get rid of the Safari icon on your screen (I'm assuming on your desktop):
-open a new Finder window (Finder> New Window)
-click on the Safari icon on your desktop and drag it to the Finder window, where it says "Applications", then let go of the icon
    - it should disappear from your desktop
