Panasonic 8077 cleaner stopped working

The cleaner for my panasonic 8077 shaver won't clean anymore. The shaver still charges, but the clean function does not work. There is only a blinking red status light. There is a new detergent cartridge in it. Help please!

Problem: Model ES7037
CMB - Over the past month the Panasonic shaver would turn on with 3-4 tries, but now will not turn on at all – the on-off switch must be bad after only 7 months of wet use. Before sending in I found this diagram:

Disassembly: Remove bottom Phillips screw & end cap, pop off each plastic side with fingernails (reinstall them from top 1st), remove 4 screws, remove 2 clips, take top off. Remove battery case and the on-off little, white plastic lever fell out. Slide off the white plastic/metal on-off slider & clean contacts with knife … my bottom contact was black & top was clean.

Assembly: Reinstall on-off slider (white plastic with metal contacts) by sliding back in grooves -- hardest part - place the on-off plastic lever on the battery back unit – I tried to put it on the case and could not get it to stay on. Slide the battery pack back in with the plug prongs in the holes in the end being careful not to drop the on-off lever. Test shaver. Stuff battery wires inside case – screw 4 screws and add 2 clips on, then final screw in the end after cap placed on. Easy once I knew how to put the on-off lever on the battery side – that was tricky. Total time was about 1 hour – next time it will be about 15 minutes. Works great! jgg
12-27-08. Think I will use it dry from now own since it had a lot of whiskers inside of it and maybe wash only the head as needed with baby shampoo.

Use that link to disassemble and clean the switch then put it back together.

All newer Panasonic Wet/Dry Shavers are probably the same.

Good Luck!

Your charging and cleaning stand is faulty. They are not repairable because parts are not available. You can purchase a new clean and charge stand at shaveroutlet.com

Panasonic ES-LV81 electric razor with self cleaning recharger won't go into clean cycle only dry.

If you take the cleaning unit to pieces you will find a tiny microswitch that detects that the cleaning cartridge is in situ. This switch is fed by 2 brown wires. The microswitch is prone to get water on it and then malfunctions. Unless you are adept enough to find a new one and fit it, in my opinion the only way around this problem is to snip one of the brown wires and re-assemble the unit.
Effectively this is overriding the units ability to sense that the cleaning cartridge is in position!
As long as you remember to NEVER run the unit without the cartridge in situ, the wash and dry cycle should work fine.

Best Regards.

My panasonic vortex, when in cleaning mode, does not dry and does not **** the water back into the holding tank

Probably due to wire being cut inside cleaner. My cleaning system charges, and the indicator lights for cleaning and charging light up, but I don't believe water is flushed through system. Took apart and found broken wire. Working to replace wire and reassemble, but having issues with disassembly so I can replace wire.
Nice razors, but not as durable as the older models.

My toshiko trimmer is not getting charged, even after charging for 6 hrs it works hardly for 5 seconds and stops.what should i do?

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the batteries won"t take a charge anymore. Refer to the Toshiko website at Tosiko.com for battery replacement, however at times the batteries cannot be replaced as they are attached to a circuit board and, you"d need to replace the shaver.

The wash station does not light up at all, only charge light lights up briefly then disapears. I just changed the detergent took seals out, filled in the water, it worked once and now it does not work...

In the process of changing the cleaner etc, you may have gotten internal electrical components wet causing the unit to no longer work properly. If this is the case, you will have to replace the cleaning and charging station. You will find a replacement for model ES7058 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Sounds like the switch is dirty and not lettingit run ... look at this video on how to clean the switch ... mine would not charge or run until I cleaned the on-off switch.

Panasonic 8077 shaver top fastener broken

This may sound nutty. Please don't laugh. It works: attach a rubber band from the top "broken" corner of the shaver to the underside. Yup. Lousy design. Are you done laughing yet?

Think I will use it dry from now own since it had a lot of whiskers inside of it and maybe wash only the head as needed with baby shampoo and try to keep the insides dry. I never saw a rubber seal that I expected, but perhaps I missed seeing it. But, how would whiskers get into the inside unit if it was sealed correctly?

Good Luck!
