Check for corrosion on the temp probe. The digital displays use thermistors to determine the temp so if the probe has dust on it it will change the resistance reading and tell the cooler that it is warmer than it is. All you can do is clean the probe, and if that doesn't solve the problem then the control or probe are faulty as they are usually one piece you will have to change it out. If you are mechanically inclined you can change out the temp control with an a19 abc24c remote bulb temp control from Johnson controls and that will last of the rest of your life.
Viking wine coolers are made by Marvel. They all had issues with freezing the contents. If you replace the electronic cold control system it will be fine.If you don't, it will freeze the wine popping the corks and leaking in the unit.If you get the parts from Marvell they are much cheaper.
It's between 55 and 65 degrees fahrenheit. If you're storing a lighter red wine, you'd want to keep it on the lower end (55 degrees). And for the darker (deep) red, you'd want to keep it on the higher end (65 degrees). All white wines should be on the lower end, and below. You can drop down to 50 degrees if you'd like. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
You have a faulty cold control (temperature control) The cold control is a
temperature actuated switch and should open when the set temperature
has been achieved. If the control does not open and turn the compressor
off, it will continue to run and all items in the fresh food section
will begin to freeze. Check the control for continuity. And or need a hands on service tech to diagnose this fault

You said, your Oster wine refrig won't lower its temperature below 76 degrees. I
have it for about 5 months, and it worked fine all this time with a
setting of 50 degrees. Now it refuses to lower its temp. It reverts
back to 76 everytime. Can someone give me any ideas about what is
wrong? FYI Mine did not come with an owner's manual. Sounds like the Thermostat is bad. http://www.oster.com/CustService.aspx?content=manual The tel # in your Oster Manual is a recording and will not help you! But New appliances are under Factory warranty and are fixed or replaced no cost to the customer!you are under
