The first thing I would try is to update your video card drivers.
Then run windows update and make sure that all critical updates are applied.
Then I would download the update patches for the game and apply them to see if that had cured the problem.
Right-Click on the icon, hit properties then goto the combatability tab. check 'run as administrator' if that doesn't work.. goto the same place.. check 'run in compatability mode' and select a previous version of windows.
Right click on the game icon, select properties and select the
compatibility tab. From there check the "Run this program in
compatibility mode for:" box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). It
might be good to also check "Disable visual themes" and "Disable
desktop composition" Hope it helps.
Have you defragged the computer within 30 days?
if not, do so.
Does your "C" drive (HDD) have more than 15% of disc space left? if not, get it back to a minimun of 15%.
Do not use the computer while defragging.
are you sure that its your screen? try another screen if it does it. if not, then try using a differant res and refresh rate.
beings that your screen freezes and then goes black on exit.
I would say, your game is heating up your computer by useing stuff that usually dont get used. try removing the cover and carefully cleaning all heat sync's so it can breath.
if the problem continues, please report back, with more info, on what game and what model system you have with operating system. also if you added a video card.
