you have a blown head gasket.. doesn't have to have coolant in the oil for a blown head gasket... if hoses are rock hard when running then you have exhaust leaking into the coolant via a blown head gasket...
Possible that the program controller timer is not contacting to the cycle so as to proceed. You need to use a multimeter and check the voltage to the next cycle, Also if you can observe the movement of the timer - the stepper motor , it will be easy to know if the timer moves to the next contact so as to switch on the heater. Replacement is the best option if this is confirmed but make sure to tag all the connections...
212 Boiler temperature too high Contactor faulty, probe faulty, check connection on XA5
The code 312 is the same as a code 212 as stated above.
There are dozens of error codes and you should be able to get them from your local meiko dealer, hope this helps, colin
