Hi, I have a Challenge RAM710 Dehumidifier which seems to be running finr except that the collected water is running out of a small exit pipe in the base of the unit and not collecting as it should in the built-in collection bucket. What should I do, plug the outlet pipe? Please advise... Thank you.

A dehumidifier is basically a cooler. The condenser coil on the outside should feel cold to the touch usually around 34 to 38 degrees, as air passes over the coils they collect the humidity in the air and it then drips down into a collector tray. If the coil does not feel cold it is ether a bad control switch not letting the cooler (compressor) turn on, low on freon, or burned out compressor

Hi, Just came across this post and although it is an old one, someone else may have the same problem. We too have a Challenge 4151319 which seemed to be running fine but did not collect water. We found out (by accident) that by raising the back edge by 1" the dehumidifier works fine. We initially placed a book under back edge to tip it forward slightly but eventually replaced this with a piece of wood. Hi Tech! In this position it collects water as it should - just looks a little odd!
