How to replace carbon brushes for Hitachi C7U2

Long time did not use a saw. But again as I started to use gutted maybe 30 seconds, afterwards stopped. Before cutting does not pay attention to hard disk spins. Pot began to look for fault and I found that carbons even move. I think the problem here. But I could not remove them.

Brushes can get jammed in the holders if not used for a while. If you can not pull them out then you will have to cut the wire in the middle of the spring, remove the main body from the aluminium casing and push them through. Then replace them with a new set after cleaning the holders so the new ones slide in and out smoothly.

SOURCE: I do not have a compound saw, just a regular

I would suggest 2 things... first check that your blade is tight... and second make sure that your power supply is adequate...no long skinny cords or sharing outlets

SOURCE: How do you remove the brushes on a Hitachi C10FSH compound miter saw?

On the sides of the motor housing there are two small, black screw caps about as big around as a dime. By removing those the brushes will come out. Most come out easily but if they are in very tight, be carefull not to strip out the screw driver slots. The caps are made of a hard plastic that breaks easily and if the slots are stripped out they are very difficult to remove.

Hello Derek, it seems that your motor or motor brushes have failed please contact the manufacture about replacing the motor brushes.

How to replace brushes when they will not come out normally?

I had the same issue. Turns out the brushes were fused into the brush mounts. I pulled on the copper end cap and wire only to break it off at the carbon brush end. I had to pull the motor out of the housing (stator) to expose the brushes. I then used a tool to push the carbon brushes back in and out of the brush mount assembly. You could also push from the outside in, just make sure you get all the carbon pieces and use a tool that won't put scratches in your brush housings. My brushes where well over 1/2 inch long....but they were just fused into the assembly, so the spring wasn't pushing it properly against the commutator, which I am guessing was the reason my saw just stopped in mid use....I had ripped a straight line in a board and stopped for a few seconds to reposition the saw only to find it no longer worked.

Symptom of poor contacts..
It could be the carbon brushes that you need to change?
Check the carbon brushes.
Use a wooden pallet to hit around the motor area and on the machine see if it can start.

How to replace carbon brushes for Hitachi C7U2

It sounds like they have become stuck due to non use. All you can do is try to pull them out. If they break, clean out the brush holders before you fit the new ones. Also check the armature is ok first.

My saw will cut for 5 seconds and then the blade stops spinning. When I back the blade out it starts again and the process is repeated. It takes a long time to cut wood this way. What's the problem? Is...

I would suspect a combination of the two! You blade probably isn't sharp and your saws brushes are probably getting worn. The brushes are made of carbon and are pushed up against the rotor by a spring. As the brush wears down the spring doesn't put as much pressure on the brushes which means it will stop working when placed under heavy load.

I have a hitachi c7u2 c saw.110v it is not working at all i have tested the power to and leaving the swich .it is.might it be the bushes?im lost

that is the next option. Remove the plug and then remove the brush retaining screws. take your meter and going from one blade of the cord depress the trigger and check each brush holder for continuity. When looking at the brushes if they are shorter than 1/4" I would replace them. Also look at the contact surface for any unusual marks. They should be clean and somewhat shiny.
