Question about GE PSC23SGPSS Side by Side Refrigerator
The freezer and refrigerator have randomly stopped cooling down lately. I'll check and the freezer is at 25 degrees or so (even though its still set at 0) and the refrigerator will be at 50 degrees (even though its still set at 37). All the ice will melt all over my floors. I'll hit the Turbo Cool button and seemingly overnight, it will return itself to the set temperatures. This has happened three times in the past month. Is is going through the defrost cycle perhaps, and somehow not cooling back down after?
Most likely it has a coolant leak or the compressor is bad. I would call GE as there may be a recall to repair this no matter if you are the original purchaser or not. Although with the amount of computerization in home appliances, it could be a main circuit board going bad.

That model refrigerator uses the mother control board for deciding when defrost is to take place. It has no defrost timer or Adaptive Defrost Control like other refrigerators. This sounds like *********** board part number WR55X10942 is malfunctioning. The board decides most functions of your refrigerator. Until the board is replace I do not believe the problem will resolve itself. Thanks, Sea Breeze
