Make sure the unit is not all iced up, try to defrost it and then retry, turn off the ice maker and water supply before defrosting. Put a thermoter in the freezer to check temp.

SOURCE: LG french doors, bottom freezer. Water leak from

Make sure your ic maker is empty. On the bottom of the ice maker is a small button. Watch the plastic fill tube and hold the botton in. Let the ice maker cycle anmd see if the water over shhoots rne ice maker. If it does, trim 1/8 of an inch off of the tube with a raxor knife on an angle = / this should take care of your problem.

Water dispenser does not work, any time it is used water just drains out of bottom of freezer area onto floor. Ice cubes works

Hello Melissa;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

I am sorry to say you have a serious problem.

The water supply line to your ice maker runs up the back of your refrigerator from the ice maker solenoid. It is a separate water supply line.

Your water dispenser water line runs from the water dispenser solenoid under your unit and up from the bottom of you freeze door.

You have a plastic tubing leak within your freezer door. Calling a service company to replace the freezer door tubing - a good service technician would not replace the tubing - the damage has already been done.

The insulating material in your freezer door is soaked. The water in the door will cause the door liner to expand and crack. There is no way to completely dry out the insulating material.
The only fix is to replace the freezer door. So, $300.00+ for the door and $150.00+ for the service tech. No, a hair dryer will not do it.

May I suggest:
1.) Remove the bottom toe plate (Kicker plate) in the front of your refrigerator.
2.) Turn the leveling screws counter clockwise so you can pull the refrigerator out to get behind it.
3.) Unplug the unit.
4.) Remove the screws from the bottom cover.
5.) There are two connectors to the solenoid valve to the water dispenser. It is the larger diameter tubing running under your refrigerator.
This will disable your water dispenser. If you see cracks on the inside of your freezer door, seal them with a high temperature silicone adhesive.

If you elect to purchase a new unit, check out Sears Outlet (Scratch & Dent) Stores.

Ge GSL25JFTA is leaking water on the floor from the front of the unit

Turn off the water supply to the ice maker. If it stops the leak, look for a leaky O ring on the filter. There is a plastic hose that runs out of the front of the refrigerator and goes to the freezer door for the water dispenser. It has a connector near the freezer door lower hinge so the door can be removed easily. That connector can leak as well. There is a condensate pan under the refrigerator that may be over flowing too.

Side by side whirlpool refrigerator leaking water puddle in front on floor no loose connections and no signs of water from any part of refrigerator

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

There are several areas where you may have a leak.

Let's check it out:

You are going to have to pull the unit out so you can inspect what is going on.

Turn the leveling screws counter clock wise to raise them. Pull the unit out so you may get behind it.

25576703-vzgcvxho43azc0x10cxafhpi-5-0.jpg 1.) Observe the plastic tubing going to the water dispenser.
The plastic tubing after time get dry rot. Have someone push the water dispenser and observe the tubing for leaks. But before this put a paper towel under the bottom hinge of the freezer door.

So, if you observe water coming from the tubing that is your problem.

Or if the paper towel in the front is wet, then you have a major problem. There is a leak in the door tubing which is only repairable by replacing the door, which is several hundred dollars plus service - $600.00. You can disconnect the contacts on the larger tubing valve and not use the water dispenser.

Ok, no leaks. Then you have a drain pain leak. Un-plug the unit. Remove the lower bottom cover in the back. Just several screws. Inspect the drain pan. Is there a water line from the pan to the front of your unit.? Repair the drain pan with duct tape and a silicone adhesive.

Inspect the bottom of your freezer. If there is ice then you have a different problem.

Water leaking from door when cold water dispenser being used

Hello Frank,
The line that runs from under the freezer door and connects to the dispenser is cracked or the connector is cracked. By removing the lower hinge cover ya should be able to see where the line connects to the door and see if it seems to be cracked and leaking their,if that connector is good then the line inside of the door is leaking..in some cases depending on brand the line is easily replacable without having to dis-assamble the entire door

Leak

Is there ice build up under the bottom basket in the freezer??

sounds like the defrost drain is frozen up. especially since your cleaning up once or twice a day. simply defrost the drain and flush the drain line with warm water. you will likely have to remove the freezer cover inside the freezer compartment to do this.

if there is no ice build up under the baskets then its likely there is a leak in the water line for your water dispenser line that runs in the door. if thats teh case you will most likely need a service company to fix it for you..
