It sounds like the Micro Switch for the Right Button has gone bad, if the Left Button is working, then you have a bad switch and it is cheaper to replace the mouse.

The laser on the mouse is not working even with fresh batteries. I use the right button and the mouse moves in a "square" shape and then stops.

i dont think it would be the led ( pass laser) as they last yrs i think you will find its a blown crt in the mouse i would replace it.

Mouse just stopped working, I first thought it was the betteries, I have replaced them with new ones, even though the onese there before were pretty new to begin with but it does not work, any suggestions?

It could be that your laser in your mouse is blocked.Check if you can right click and if your buttons are still working. If so,its probably the sensor(under the mouse, usually a red beam)could be blocked. If you CANNOT right click then all I can think of is you got a fualty mouse. For a new mouse I would recomend a AlienWare mouse.I own one myself,it isnt the cheapest,or the most expensive, but it is the best mouse I have ever owned,I have owned it for over two years and it still works.Hope it helped

Microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 6000 not working

I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still no workie. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the mouse's opening for the battery appeared to be bent down (away from the contact on the battery tray). So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!
