How do you change the brushes on a Remington pole electric chainsaw model number 108526-01? I am having a prob getting the motor out of the casing.

not sure about this particular model but many saws have the brush accessible from the motor casing. Look for a round disc with a screwdriver slot on the motor casing. These round discs should be on opposite sides of the motor housing

Change battery

Most MS3 series models were not designed for battery change. The shaver body is glued together and it is extremely difficult to take apart without marring it all up.
shaveroutlet.com sells the shaver body for a very reasonable price. I suggest you consider this item instead. See link below

Where can I find brushes for the remington model

Remington saw has gone out of business, and finding parts can be a hit or miss experience. Motor brushes in particular are quite rare, so you need to be resourceful in finding a similar brush used in other small tools. Visit a small tool repair shop or check with Ace Hardware (our local store has a whole display box of various sized brushes). If you do find something, buy more because these saws seem to eat brushes for lunch! Good luck!

It just quit. Model 111409-01 6" electric pole saw..remington

Parts for these machines are not being manufactured any more as the company has ceased operations. Search the internet for companies that advertise these parts--you may get lucky! On the motor--check the brushes as they seem to fail often. Good luck!

NEED A AIR CLENER AND CARB KIT

Remington Arms made many different model gasoline driven chainsaws. All have been out of production for many many years. The likelihood of finding any new parts is extremely slim. Try eBay.

The chain came off of my Remington 16" electric saw. How do I put the chain back on?

If the saw was at speed when the chain came off there are probably burrs on the chain drive links (the part that goes in the bar). They often cause binding and in extreme case may cause the chain to ride up and off the bar when operated. Use a file on the drive link flats to remove all burrs.
An Operator Manual far almost all models of RemingtonPower chainsaws can be found here:

  • Type "YourModelNo" into the "Model #:" window, then click search.
  • Click the YourModelNo - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.

I have Remington model # 107624-02 electricwhile using It would

I have had a similar problem with a couple Remington electric chain saws, including this one. I removed the motor, opened it up, and found the problem was burned out motor brushes. It can be quite a challenge finding replacements.

MAKE CAREFUL NOTE OF HOW ALL COMPONENTS FIT TOGETHER AS YOU DISSASEMBLE.

I took the motor with me and ended up finding some brushes with the same cross-section at a local electric motor repair place. I tried completely replacing the used brushes before, but always had trouble with either opening and re-closing the brush holder, or with trying to make connections to the existing wiring.

My most effective solution was to file the end of the burned out brush flat (it wears to a curve that fits against the comutator). Then I cut a piece of a new brush with the same cross-section as long as would fit inside the brush holder when inserted from the comutator end to replace the part that had burned/worn away.. I ended up with a piece between 1/4 and 3/8 inch long. This fits flat end to the filed-down flat end of the burned out brush.

Once carefully put back in place and reassembling the motor and saw, I ran the motor with no chain for a minute or so to verify the fix and give the brush a chance to shape itself to the comutator.

This is not necessarily a permanent solution. But I can repeat the process as often as needed until some other component wears out enough to justify replacing the entire unit.

I really like NOT messing with gas engines and do a lot of heavy cutting on logs moved nearer to the house.. But the weak link on every electric I have had has been the brushes eventually burning away.

What type of oil do I use for a Remington Electric Pole Saw?

While Bar Chain oil will probably work, the owners manual (sitting in front of me) on page 9 says to "use SAE #30 motor oil". This is the owners manual for Models: M12510US, M15012US, M15014US, M15014AS, M30016US, M30016AS, M30016AW, M35016UW, M35016AW. Remington Electric Chain Saw
