SOURCE: Flashing red light 7 times on our panasonic th-42pz700u

hello you have what you call a "shut down circut" it is for safety and when one of the internal boards gets shorted or is not working properly, service doc reads as follows

7 Blinks SOS:
Pin 93 of the MPU IC9003 monitors the status of the SC, SU, SD board. During normal operation, the photo-coupler PC6480 outputs a low to pin 93. If the SC, SU, or SD board becomes defective, a high is provided to pin 93. As a result, the unit shuts down and the power LED blinks 7 times

thiera blinking 7 times is cuase by a fualt in sc,su,sd boards

We had a Pioneer that did the same thing. We called a Pioneer Service Center. It appears there was a recall on the Power Supply. They fixed it in our home at not charge.

Try disconnecting all HDMI cables and plugging the TV into a new wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, it may have been caused by a small power surge from either your wall outlet or one of your source devices.

Tcp50g25 blinking 10 times

Like I said above:get the FACTORY TRAINEE TECH MANUAL ON LINE FOR THIS MODEL. Then IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A SCOPE AND MULTIMETER YOU CAN TEST IT!!! The factory book says on a flow chart 1 blink=XX 10 blinks=xy BUT NOT ALWAYS! BELOW THE "ANSWER" ARE 2-3 other boards you should check. GD nightmare Shop Jimmys are somewhat helpfulbut really take it to a reliable shop.
P.S. If you don't bleed down the capacitors you can get a shock. Also look at the tops of cap. and see if swollen=replace

Tv will not stay on and red light blinks

Im afraid the set is probably in an over current protection mode wherebye it shuts down to protect itself as one area of the tv is drawing excess current, the pattern of flashes will have a code which would guide a techie to problem , im afraid you will need an engineer visit, sorry George

Plasma tv will turn on with picture (from DVD player but not cable box) for about 1 minute then tv cuts off and red light blinks about 14 times.

Try unplugging the outside cable line from the box and plug it directly into the TV and do a channel autosearch. You should at least get some basic cable stations. If you do get them, something is wrong with the cable box.If you don't get anything,it's something in the TV,maybe something as simple as the coaxial antenna connection(hopefully).I am assuming the DVD is plugged into the external input jacks?(red, white, yellow cords). If the DVD is not hooked up that way please let me know.Good luck!
