XPS 1530 won't start up property

I have had my XPS 1530 lap top for two years now and just recently it takes several re-boots to start. I have also had problems with the computer freezing during use but that seems to have fixed itself.

I only get it to start by starting it in safe mode and restarting from that point.

Hi there.
While you are in safe mode perform a system restore and take the computer back at least 2 - 7 days before the problems started.
Don't worry about loosing any data as system restore does not delete files.
Please post back if you need anymore help.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Xps 1530 graphics problem

Your laptop appears to have decent specs. Did you update drivers to you video card, Nvidia,or windows updates to video lately? You could go to Device Manager> Display Adapter>right click >Properties on NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS - and open properties> Driver> Update Driver or roll back driver.
Assumeing there has not been any damage to the monitor. You could always try a system restore or system recovery. If it's a software problem that would clear it, if it's a hardware problem it will move with the restore/recovery most likely.
Let me know how it works.

On my lap top "I

shutdown the laptop. unplug the external monitor boot the laptop if you take a flashlight and hold it very close to the screen do you see any characters (look all over) If the answer is yes, then it is the lightbar at the bottom of the monitor and it can be a very expensive fix (about $300+) if you do not then the whole screen has died and it is definitely a very expensive fix ($500 or more)
Sorry but it has happened to several of my clients. Is it still under warranty?
Hope I am wrong

Bios password reset on a Dell XPS 1530. Bios reset software will not work for you cannot boot from disc while a bios password is implemented. Removing CMOS battery overnight does not work either.

I am not going to take credit for information but here the link. Please read, removing the CMOS battery will never solve it nor replacing it.

Dell xps 1530, gets black out

that's an OS problem, or malware. If you're running Windows, try to boot into safe mode (press F8 and choose "safe mode" or F5) and see if you get your desktop back. You can go directly into recovery mode from the F8 boot mode selection menu also.

My laptop xps 1530 battery not charging

The battery is stationary but the cord is not, so I would say it is the cord. Go top a good store that works on them and ask to try it before you buy it. A new power supply can run $60.

Drivers for windows xp of dell xps 1530

I do believe that xps 1530 is built in for vista, that only thing that i can suggest you is you can try to look for the specific driver on other xps laptops for example your chipset is intel mobile then choose xp as the operating system or just directly search in support.dell.com
