Question about Whirlpool GGW9200L Gas Dryer
When cold the igniter stays on for 7-10 seconds and gas value opens and the burn turns on. Flame is orange/bluish. Stay on for 3 min and then shuts off abruptly. Within 1 minute the igniter glows for 3-5 seconds (while make a low "grinding" noise) but the burner never lights again. When the glow goes out there is a distinctive click on the 2+ try. But never on a cold start. I have cleaned and tested all the standard items.

Check the thermocouple it is going bad or already has and that is why the gas valve is not staying open.

HI, Check your 4" vent to the outside and make sure it is clean and that it has no kinks.
Any restriction to the outside will cause the dryer to short cycle. All thermostats must have continuity. With the dryer running, remove the lint screen and check to see if there is good air flow by putting your hand in where the filter goes (it is safe). You should feel air rushing past your hand if the vent is clear.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Sounds like you need to replace your coils. Probably only one of them is bad, but why hassle with determining which one when you can get a pair for about $20 (the other one may be ready to fail soon anyway).

yes, the gs coil is not opening. Go to www.repairclinic.com put the model number in and get the gas valve.

The gas valve coils are bad. When they heat up they are losing resistance to stay on.
Turn off the gas. Unplug the machine. Remove the front panel. The gas valve will be in the front right hand corner. Remove the gas valves and replace them with new valves. Please note how the coils orient on the gas valve.
