Usually on the lower limb of the bow is marked string and cable length. If not will have to contact manufacturer.

Squeaking noise when drawing back Barnett vortex bow

The four rubber grommets where the string is attached to the limbs need some DRY lubricant. When drawing, the grommets 'slip', and that slip 'plucks' at the string creating the creaks. Keep applying dry graphite to these points and the bow will quiet up nicely.

How does a bow work?

A bow is a flexible arc which shoots aerodynamic projectiles called arrows. Essentially, the bow is a form of spring powered by a string. As this string is drawn, energy is stored in the flexible limbs of the bow; the energy is transferred to the arrow when the string is released, projecting it much farther than a weapon could be thrown.

What's a common string made of?

An ideal string material is strong for its mass, resists stretching, and remains strong after exposure to moisture. Bow strings are frequently made of animal byproducts such as sinew, intestine, or hair. Plant fibers such as linen were also common and usually had a superior ratio of strength to mass.

How often should I replace my bow's string?

If you're taking good care of your bow's string you can replace it every2 to 3 years. Taking care of your string means you should wax the string everycouple of weeks, and thoroughly clean your bow after an intense use or at leastevery weekend. When you'll notice thatthe string is getting dry that's a sign to get a new one.

My string broke on my bow and arrow and I wondered what it was made from and could I replace it myself?

In archery, the bow string was originally made with linen or flax fibres, which are individual stings woven onto one. It would be better to take your bow in to have it repaid by a professional as you will need the right tension for the bow to shoot arrows at the correct speed ect.

When the bow is pulled across the strings there is no sound just a quiet muffled noise?

These are noted for NOT being prroperly setup!

Check the following:

The bridge should be centered within the length of the "f" holes... usually there is a slight "v" in the middle of the "f" holes.

The Back (side toward the tailpiece) should be perfectely vertical relative to the top surface.

Look into the "f" hole on the treble side. The sound post should be about 1/4 inch toward the tailpiece from where the bridge is located. The post should be vertical between the top and bottom inside.

The rest depends on the quality of the strings and the bow. The bow needs to be rosined.

Use google to find stuff about setting up a violin. There is a mass amount if information on the web, and probably some help on you tube as well.

Bear polar recurve brace height

String length is 60 inches. The brace should be 7.5 to 8 inches. Listen for noise and feel for hand shock. Twist the string to add brace. Shoot for the sweet spot. When the bow becomes quiet and the vibration and hand shock is minimal, you have found the sweet spot. Measure your brace height at this point and write it down.
