Question about RCA Televison & Video
I have an RCA blu ray player BRC11082 manufactured Jan 2011. When it stopped working I opened it up and found that the disc was no longer being held in place and would wobble. I was able to press down on the center circle above the disc to get it to connect to the part under the disc and it would play movies for a few times. But I think I just ended up stripping the parts further and that no longer works. Everything else is working it's just the parts that need to hold the disc in place no longer connect. Can I replace them? What is the name of the part I need to search for? And where can I buy one? Thanks, Sarah

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Player suddenly freezes
Try running a dvd cleaner through it first, before trying anything else (the type that looks like a DVD with a brush underneath).
The regular DVD might have been a fluke (scratches, rental?, burned dvd?)
Was there anything special about the new Blu-Ray Disc - what was the tile? On certain titles, you may need the firmware upgrade found at:

SOURCE: can't read blu ray disc
We searched the internet and found out that many people had the same problem as us and the reason for the problem is a defective part. You have to call panasonic and mail the whole unit back to them for the needed repairs. It really stinks to have to give up our player for so long but what else do you do? Never buy panasonic I guess.
I thought that I deleted all of my information from your website when we discovered our problem. Please do not charge me for this. Also please get rid of my info. If I ever do need help again I am happy to try your site. Thanks for asking.

Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.

You will need the following:
1) Internet connection
2) Wired router
3) long enough ethernet cable to reach from your blue ray player to the router.
Eject any disks and turn off the blu-ray player by unplugging it.
Attach the ethernet cable to the router and the other end to the ethernet port on the back of the blu-ray player.
Turn on the blu-ray player and wait for it to load all the way.
Using the remote, arrow over to the left to "Setup", the up to "Network Update".
After the unit updates and restarts, repeat until it tells you "Already Updated".
That should help you play the newer movies, and even some of the older ones.
