2001 f350 slow to start when cold. Then when it starts and rpm rises it dies.

Fuel water separator ?, change the filter and make sure gasket sits. Tight if it sucks any air at all you can get this problem or it will not start at all ,air filter , water in fuel .

First thing to do Is plug it in 6.0ltrs hate the cold second check glow plug circuit if you don't have a block heater you need one a coolant circulator is the best but if its really cold a heater on the oil pan a swell

2001 Ford F350, 7.3 Diesel, 6 speed manual trans. Starts and idles just fine but when I let out the clutch the engine dies when the rpm reaches about 1500. Even in neutral it dies when rpm is slowly...

I want to say APP , If the Cam sensor degrades or is out of range it will do this, I wish I could hear it,The turbo can also do this, just make sure all turbo connection are clamp down, and there is no leak from any of the tubes

My 2001 F350 seemed to have gelled up overnight with cold temps. I had fuel additive in the system. Once it warmed up today and batteries fully charged, it cranked very slow and then after 3 tries it...

glow plugs may be bad,when starting try turning switch on several times,each time you do,wait for the wait to start light goes off, if it starts like that,then your glow plugs need replacement. you can start it with either spray,but when you do that the motor gets addicted to the bottle,so to speak, then you'll really need to replace the glow plugs if you keep either starting it.when using either spray it into the air induction,use very little either,if you can't find the either,you can use regular starting fluid,but either one you choose,it takes just a quick spray to start. thank you for choosing

When I start up my truck it makes a slight reving noise. The RPM fluxuates just a little. But it only started since it has been really cold.

Pretty typical in cold weather. Computer is compensating for the outside air temperature. It should slow down after it runs a bit. Mine does the same thing this time of the year. . .

very normal with a 7.3 to be hard starting at lower temps the only thing i can recommend is getting a remote start with cold start where it starts it every 2 hours and runs it for 10 mins other than that you need to plug it in

2001 F350 just died and won't start??? Replaced cam sensor, been trouble shooting. Any sugestions????

first check all fuses.replace all burnt fuses check the big main fuses in distribution box in engine compartment,if this is a diesel engine.I would start looking at a direct injection module 100% its usually located on driverside inner fender 2"x8"x10" dimensons

If you were driving a voyager I'd suspect the fuel pump is starting to fail.
