"AUX" is just a generic label for any Line Level Input. On this unit that would be Video/MD (Audio In) or TV (Audio In).

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

SOURCE: sony stereo mhc-gx9900 audio doesnt come out of speaker thou all lights show its playing

There is a intermittent problem on the main board, or the headphone jack is dirty or worn contacts, buy electronic cleaner, spray into headphone jack or earphone jack, slide headphone jack in and out as you spray the contact cleaner, do this several times in a attempt to restore audio.

I connected an aux to it i dont know how to like put it in aux mode i cant find it

The MHC-GX9900 has several audio input ports (RCA L/R) on the back of the unit. Press the TV or Video/MD buttons on the left side of the amplifier part of the unit. Alternatively, these are accessed in turn by repeatedly pressing the Function button on the remote. The TV input is the top one of the pair of inputs. The front ports are audio out to headphones and a pair of microphone in ports.

I hope this helps.

Hooking a sony ghc-gx99 to bose speakers

If you already have speakes running, adding the Bose will probably get your system into trouble because they operate at a low impedience, around 4ohms.
