Mvwc450xw stuck on sense mode flashing door lock light

Maytag Centennial Commercial mvwc450xw top load washer stuck on sense mode, has slight humming noise and will not spin to start the load balance step. It will automatically unlock the door lock with light off and leave sense light on. When holding the start/stop button for 3 seconds to cancel/abort...either both sense and door lock lights will flash or only the door lock light will flash. Have been searching for info to enter into diagnostic mode

SOURCE: My Maytag Epic Z washer stop in mid cycle then

The low humming sound is from the pump. Remove the 3 screws on the bottom panel and remove it to check the pump filter. Here is a video for the "Duet Sport" washer. This washer is about the same. This video will show you the process and in this video the problem was similar to yours.

SOURCE: My washer spin and unlock button starting flashing and when I try to unlock the washer, it won't let me. I have a feeling the load was off balance. What can I do to unlock it?

Access the drain hose and get the end to ground level in a bowl. Empty any water. Clear filter and make sure drain pump is free. Door will now open

SOURCE: want to disengage lid lock on maytag centennial

I had the same problem. The lid lock assembly is broken. If you are under warranty get it replaced. If not remove the top of the washer and take out the switch assembly. The 4 wires going in are Yellow, Red, White, and Blue. If you short the white and blue together, the washer thinks the lid is closed. If you short the red white and blue together the washer thinks the lid is closed and locked. The yellow is only there to activate the electromagnetic switch.
Disconnecting the switch assembly will not work.
The electromagnet locks the lid and it also unlocks the lid. It is not a matter of cutting the power to the magnet.
Installing 2 switches that connect the red white and blue is the best option if you want to remove the lock.
The first switch should connect the white and blue. (LID CLOSED)
The second should connect the red to the white/blue connection. (LID LOCKED)
After that the lid should work.
Please post a follow-up if this works for you.
GOOD LUCK

Swich off the machine, try some WD40 on the door mechanism (on machine lock, not on the door) and open & shut for a minute or two. Then try the machine, spin only just to try.

Maytag Cent. Washer MVWC400XW3, stuck on SENSING and LID LOCK I replaced the Door Lock and Actuator - still getting the same results as I did before I made any replacments

Unfortunately that error code is for a stuck keypad. It's like the button is being held down constantly. You can replace the control panel or clear error codes and try again, also you need to calibrate this washer after changing parts. If you open the lid and reach between the tub and cabinet at the front left corner, you will find the tech manual.

After pushing start, lid locking light flashes, clicks like it is locking but is not locked and nothing happens but it keeps clicking

Sounds like the lid lock itself is bad, be sure to check the connections at the control board. There should be a tech sheet inside the front panel towards the top left. This can help you check the error codes and wiring diagrams.

I have a Maytag Centennial top load washer. When washing in normal or heavy with large or super load size, the washer remains in sensing mode. Some water does start to fill, but never reaches wash cycle....

This unit does not handle a super large load as it advertised. When you put a super large load, the sensor is over-sized and will not move on the next cycle.

I have a maytag centennial washer MVWC400XWO it is 3 years old. The washer has stopped after the initial wash cycle leaving the cloths wet in a tub full of water. The washer will not go to the spin/drain...

For saftey the lid lock and lid down switch must be activated before the machine can advance to the next cycle. This has been the sequence for all top loaders..

Check the switch for the lid it is likely defective.

Make sure that the power is removed.

Simple repair by a qualified technician.

Hope this helps?

When I push the start button the sensing light turns green and the lid locks and turns red but it makes a hum sound and nothing happens. Please help

The hum you hear is the water inlet valve solenoid trying to open and is probably stuck. Replace the valve and you should me good to go. Here is the part to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Maytag centennial commercial technology washer, having intermittent trouble with controls, wondering how to acess controls to clean connections ?

There are two 1/4 inch hex screws on the back of the control panel and a pair of metal tabs at the base that hold the panel assembly together. I found this video on youtube that illustrates how to take the assembly apart.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yxjNiAKvYwI fixed mine by just cleaning the contacts on the auto load sensing switch.
