Having trouble trying to figure out how to do the touch screen calibration

Touch screen is not supposed to be "calibrated" by users. All my family uses touchscreen smartphones and computers and NEVER anyone mentioned the need of calibrating a touchscreen. If you have some problem with your touchscreen, it is something beyond standard devide operation and you should take it for service, if it is on warranty, to site where it should be serviced

Compass

I'm not 100% sure (I'm a new Nexus 7 owner), but I have see some solutions out there. The consensus seems to be that the accelerometer or the magnetometer isn't properly calibrated.

There are apps out there which claim to calibrate your device sensors, but sometimes these apps need to remain open. Compass is often recommended.

The best (and most odd) solution I've heard is to have the app open and wave the nexus 7 around in a figure 8 pattern. Apparently this does some "voodoo magic" and the device seems to calibrate itself.

Lastly, I have also read that android compasses never seem to point to true north in apps like Google Sky, but is more apparent in larger devices.

If that doesn't help I would suggest contacting Google Support to see if there is a better solution or if they can swap it out.

What does calibrating a ipad mean

Whoever used the term "calibrating an iPad" may have been referring to touch screen calibration.

Some touch screens need to be adjusted, or "calibrated", or the device may act as if you touched a different spot on the screen than you did. The iPad screen does not need to be calibrated.
If the iPad make a mistake about what spot you touched, the error may be due to:
  • a defect or damage;
  • a screen protector;
  • a cold finger;
  • a hand that is holding the iPad and inadvertently touching the screen;
  • a finger that is inadvertently touching the screen.

Ello My problem is when i boot after a factory reset i have touchscreen to calibrate and when i do it it gives me try once again it's stuck there

I am not sure you are talking about a tablet PC or the new craze of tablets.
For the tablet PC you should have a screen calibration utility. You can calibrate the display for the Wacom (or other) pen, or for the touch input.
When you calibrate the pen, any touching of the screen with anything other that the Wacom pen will be ignored.
Similarly, when you calibrate the touch, any input with the Wacom pen will be ignored and you will be asked to use the proper instrument.

To get back to your case , it is possible that you are not putting the finger at the right place or not pressing hard enough. That is just a guess and I may be off the mark for the new tablets, but not for the Tablets PC:
