Dell doesn't realy have a "recovery" CD. What they shipped is a re-installation CD of the original OS (OEM edition). If you don't have this, you can probably download it from a torrent site and install the OS again using the installation code from the license sticker on the bottom of the laptop.

common design flaw, charger port is part of motherboard it breaks mb can be fixed by replacing motherboard i know it sucks

First how many flashes? How many beeps? Probably due to that line of latitudes, the motherboard has gone bad. Ive replaced many of those series main boards due to cheap junk they put out before fully testing them. But, you need to count the flashes and beeps to see for sure. IVe replaced dell latitude D620 main board more timez than i care to count due to trashy design. I imagine the D505 is in that same line of garbage. <;0)

Hi. Look for a slide switch on the side of the computer. It maybe infront or at the side. You may try also pressing Fn + F5 key to toggle on/off the wireless adapter.

Either the video cable has been damaged or unplugged or the video processor is malfunctioning. Check this by connecting an external monitor. If the video is all there then press the Fn(function) and F4 key. This should switch the video from the external monitor to the internal screen. There is no separate switch for wireless internet. I hope our computer supports WI Fi Go to My Computer icon and click it to open it. Then click on net work connections Right click on the wireless connection icon On the drop out menu click enable.
