Question about Dryers

Open Question

My Kenmore dryer model 11092832100 had a burned out light bulb and when I put some clothes in the dryer the light bulb sparked then my dryer wouldn't start at all. The repairman said I needed a new circuit board so I replaced that. The dryer started up then after one minute gave an E1 error code. After some more troubleshooting I replaced the thermistor. I am still getting an E1 code--what now?

The solution is not the thermister it is a board in the console with the transformer on it. That's what my tech says.

SOURCE: I constantly got E1 Error code on my Kenmore Elite H3 GAS dryer

E1 error code indicates an open thermistor or open thermistor circuit. A thermistor is a component that relays the temperature in the dryer to the control board. If the thermistor has failed, Error code E1 will be displayed.
You need to call a repair person to fix it.

SOURCE: PLEASE HELP! Dryer cuts off and gives an E68 code.

e68 code

this is a fault code that means there is a stuck key on the board you may have to remove the control panel and check the keys if this does not work you may have to replace the panel or control board

Good luck

Kenmore model 90 dryer electric will dry the clothes takes a long time. Leaves the floor surrounding the dryer damp actually wet just not puddled

Are the clothes wet AND hot? If so - check the exhaust / vent hose for kinks or obstructions. That includes the cap / flap on the outside of the house.

If the clothes are wet AND cold, then the electric heating element isn't heating likely due to a broken or poor electrical connection, burned out heating element, defective thermostat, etc..

Lights in my kenmore refrigerator, freezer on bottom, burned out. I purchased two 60w bulbs and replaced them. I plugged in the refrigerator and the lights were on. Then a couple of minutes later,

Hello Sharon;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You can not put normal house hold appliance bulbs in appliances. There are special bulbs for refrigerators, clothes dryers and close washers.

The bulbs are usually available in the local market and marked; "Refrigerator" and Freezer".

You may have a bad door switch. But, I am more prone to go with the wrong service bulb.

I do I get the cover of the light to change the bulb in a kenmore 96589410 dryer. Its located to the right side of the door, one screw which I took out, but don't seem to be able to get the plate off to...

I had a bulb burn out on the same model.
take the screw out..grab the bottom of the plastic cover and pull straight down.
It fights you, but it'll come off with a little effort.
Putting it back on and lining up the screw hole is fun also.

Light bulb

Sounds like you got a defective bulb. Make sure it is for 120 volts or thereabouts....not 6 or 12.
