Question about Fuji FinePix E550 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Screen works in playback mode but turns off in camera mode as if batteries are going dead.

Camera turns on and works fine in playback mode. But as soon as you press the shutter button, the power goes off leaving a blank screen. We went to the beach last fall -- could it be sand? However, the camera worked fine until just a few months ago. Wanted to open it up to see if I could see any sand, but don't have a screwdriver small enough to do the job. Any suggestions?? Need to get it fixed quick with the holidays coming up!

Re: Screen works in playback mode but turns off in camera...

For some reason, Fuji does not emphasize that if your batteries get low, this is what happens. You just need recharged batteries or new batteries. Be careful with rechargables--before recharging them when this happens, you first have to drain them using the discharge mode of your camera. Then they will take a complete charge. (Good for some 300 charges or so, I believe.) But if you don't discharge them first, they will take less and less of a charge, and last shorter and shorter. If you use regular batteries, they might not last for 50 pics before running out of juice.

Canon 60D playback images turning up black

Did you switch to Tv (shutter mode) and took pictures for several seconds? like in the dark? Because saving the picture can take as long as the shutter time was.
Before panic. (Actually you never should panic) check your camera in automatic mode. And make sure you did not select any power save action, that puts your display on dark while shooting.
But always be sure your battery is charged and check its capacity. In the menu yo can check under the wrench symbol, when you select Battery info. Page 268 of the manual.
Working with a bad battery can damage the camera in the end.

Sony Cybershot DSC-W200 digital camera. Suddenly and for no apparent reason it can no longer be switched on. Blank screen, no lens movement, no sound, totally dead. I substituted a spare, fully charged...

Try this:
Remove the batteries at the same time that you remove the camera's memory card. This will allow the camera to reset. The camera does not require the memory card to operate, so leave the memory card out as you reinsert the batteries. If the camera turns on with the memory card out, but not with it in, you may have a corrupt memory card. Contact the memory card's manufacturer for a replacement.
Turn on the camera in playback mode. This mode allows you to turn on the camera without extending the lens. If your camera is already set to playback mode, it may appear the camera is not turning on when you press the "on" button, because the lens will not extend.Contact Sony if your camera still won't turn,if you bought your camera new from a licensed retailer, it should come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty. Your camera has problem in Lens mechanism. If Lens doesn't open properly, camera will not show picture at all. There would be Loading Motor section demaged in Lens mechanism and it needs to be replaced to work camera OK.
Now come to blue screen in playback mode, This model doesn't have internal memory, so you need memory stick/ card to see previously taken pictures.
