Just bought a DC33. Multi-floor.It is very hard to push on the carpeting. It is fine on the wood floors. Is there any way to adjust it higher for the carpeting. It is dense carpet not high

There are no floor settings for this unit. Since the brush is spinning, it will create more resistance when running over the carpet.

I can't push my Dyson Dc33 on my new carpet..it works backwards ok but not pushing forward?

Hi Fran, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC33 is engineered to work effectively on both hard and carpeted flooring. The cleaner head is engineered to adjust automatically for different floor types and carpet piles. You can also turn off the brush bar for hard floors and delicate rugs, using the brush control on the cleaner head.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty pushing your machine forward on this particular type of new carpeting. If your DC33 worked effectively before the new carpeting was fitted, it doesn't sound like there's an issue with the vacuum itself. However, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take some further details about the issue, and may be able to suggest a resolution. You may also want to consider contacting the carpeting manufacturer directly, as they should be able to recommend the best way of caring for this specific carpeting.

When you have your DC33 easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Brush bar doesn't fit back in

Hi Ryan, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC33's brush bar is not engineered to be removed by the user, and we would recommend using scissors to carefully cut away any hair or threads with the brush bar in place. You can remove the soleplate for easier access: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc33/dc33-multifloor/using-my-dyson-list/flo-dc07-gen-how-to-remove-a-blockage/redirect-to-removing-debris-from-the-brushbar-dc33/removing-debris-from-the-brushbar-dc33

For help replacing the brush bar I would encourage you to contact our experts directly - they may be able to talk you through it. You can reach them by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

If you give our freephone Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), our experts will be happy to run you thought some diagnostic checks. Sounds like the beater bar hits the front plastic makes a loud awful noise

    Hi Cathy,

Your DC33's brush control is designed to make a ratcheting sound to warn you if something is jamming the brush bar. You should be able to resolve this by making sure the cleaner head is free of any obstructions, and removing any threads or hair from around the brush bar. For guidance in doing this, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

    http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc33/dc33-multi-floor/dc33-maintaining-your-dyson-machine/how-to-remove-a-blockage/from-the-brushbar/removing-debris-from-the-brushbar

This should resolve the issue, but if you're still concerned about the machine after following these steps, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), so we can provide further assistance.

My brand new dyson dc33 vacuum ($399.00) is making an annoying sound when applied using a carpet setting. This only occurs on my thinner carpets, not on my thicker carpets. Do I have to inspect the...

If there are no obstructions and it still makes the grinding noise here is something to try. When you take the bottom plate off which is real easy to do (3 plastic screws turn 1/4 turn with a coin) there is also on the bottom of the vacuum a rubber seal. This is located just above where the screws are inserted. Take a butter knife and remove this seal...it is very thin and runs the width of the bottom of your vacuum. Put plate back on and try vacuuming again..problem should be solved. The suction on the machine is tremendous...with the seal in place the vacuum literally sucks itself down on the carpet causing the brush to stop spinning. This wwill not hurt your vacuum in any way. Hope this helped.
