Grid reticule in eyepiece

Hi. I require a grid reticule to use as a reference point on my slides. Ordinarily I would place a glass piece with a grid printed on it in the eyepiece of the microscope. My current microscope has CR1 10X eyepieces and I cannot unscrew them to put in the grid reticule. Do you know of any way to project a grid onto the slide? Or do you know of specialized grids? Or eye pieces that would allow this? thanks

If this is a brand new scope then there is most likely some packaging or packaging tape that is preventing movement. Scopes are meticulously packaged because they can be rather delicate instruments. In some rare cases the scope may be damaged in shipment.

The most common cause of such failure is one or more "open" places in the material of the defroster grid itself, usually caused by allowing something to ride up against the grid until it rubs through the material. Very close inspection of the grid may be required to find those spots. But before you spend hours checking every inch of the grid with a magnifying glass and a volt/ohm meter (VOM), check to see if you have current at the two wires that connect the grid to your electrical system. You need to do this, of course when the engine is running and the defroster is switched on. Disconnected from the grid, one side's connection wire should check "hot" (13.8 volts) when you place the meter in the "voltage" mode and connect the red wire of the meter to that side of the grid and the black wire of the meter to a good vehicle ground, and the other should check as a "dead short" to ground, i.e. a connection in which there is no resistance. Your vehicle's owners manual may show helpful photos and wiring diagrams. If you find that you have proper connections and voltage, and find a tiny gap in the grid somewhere, you can buy some copper sulfate solution at the local auto parts store and paint it very carefully into the gap to restore the original connection. If you have no voltage at the grid, suspect the switch and/or the connections to the back of the switch. Good luck!

How i adjust horizontal size and vertical size


To answer your concern, all you have to do is to change the setting of your aspect ratio on your TV.

Here is my suggested way to procede:


1. Apply 1080i signal, which should produce an oversized HD image on ColorStream1or 2.
2. Select an HD channel that is broadcasting standard 4:3 image, not wide screen.
3. Switch to the Service Mode ( Please refer to the above links). In the Service mode, press channel up/down to find the Adjustment parameters needed for the following steps.

4. Adjust HIT with volume up/down control for the image height to 22.5 inches.

6. Adjust WID for image width of 30 inches, (22.5*4/3)
7. Adjust HPOS to center the image.
8. Adjust PARA and TRAP to minimize geometric distortion.
9. Switch into Convergence mode and Adjust VLIN to get equally spaced horizontal grid lines.
10. Measure the length of the central grid lines and note the number of horizontal and vertical grid lines. This information is used to create an overlay grid.
11. Create the overlay grid on 40x25 x0.003 inch clear Acetate sheet, which you can get at the Art Supply store for under $2. Draw the grid with a fine line erasable pen. Draw vertical and horizontal lines through the center of the sheet so that the lengths are the same as the central grid lines. Now draw the grid so that it has the same number of lines as the convergence grid but are equally spaced, with the outer ones at the ends of the central lines.
12. Cut off about 1/4 inch from the right side of the sheet so that the sheet can lay flat against the screen, which is slightly less than 40 inches.
13. Put a reference mark on the TV frame 2.5 inches down from the upper left side of the screen.
14. Place the overlay on the screen so that the upper edge lines up with the reference mark. The overlay sticks by electrostatic attraction.
15. Use convergence controls to remove grid distortion and converge grid colors. Refer to the Anamorphic link for details.
16. Enjoy 1080i.

Other Comments:
I didn't realize I could create the overlay grid before placing the Acetate sheet on the TV screen, until I finished drawing the grid with the sheet placed on the screen. I added grid lines as called for in the procedure. I'm sure this method took much longer no only to draw the lines but some of them were difficult to see.

Part way through the convergence procedure, I became concerned that the image width was off since I did my screen adjustment with wide screen image. Thus, I decided to repeat that step with a 4:3 screen.

I confirmed the need to press 7 often to save results since after I adjusted one grid color without it, I accidentally hit a key that switched me out of convergence mode and when I switched back, all settings were gone.

Another mistake I made was not realizing that the cursor color determines which grid gets moved.

1. Insert the Bore Stud into the Stanchion while aligning the arrows as shows. Insert the assembled scope guide into the muzzle of your rifle with the grid pattern upright. 2. Select the Aperture Cap that fits your objective rim. Place it over the objective end of your rifle scope and press until it fits flatly against the rim. 3. Using the Adjustable Scale measure the top of your rifle scope tube to the center of the rifle bore as follows: Open the rifle breach. Rest the upper arm of the scale on the scope tube before or behind the windage and elevation turrets. The scale markings should be facing towards you reading vertically and ascending from bottom to top. Slide the lower end of the scale up or down until it is touching the center point of the bore. On center fire rifles the center point will be the firing pin. On rimfire models the center will be the shell extractor. Read the number that corresponds to the indicator marked "CF". Make a note of the reading. 4. Aim the rifle toward a light, flatly lit area such as a wall or open sky. Caution: Do Not Look At The Sun As Permanent Eye Injury Could Result. 5. While keeping the riflescope at the right distance to see the full field of view, sight through it on the grid pattern. Move the stanchion right or left until the bold centerline is parallel to the vertical reticule wire. I have a 2002 Corolla GS. Rear window defroster not working


The main cause for the rear window not working is a disconnected wire at either side of the defroster grid. You can see where the body harness connects to the rear glass.

The second most liekly cause are broken defroster grid wires.

I would suggest to you to obtain a 12 volt DC testlamp, and check for voltage as follows, at the rear defroster.

Hook the clamp of the testlamp up to a known good ground. The back door latch 'hoop' is great. Next, turn on the rear defroster, and place the point of the tip on the extreme side of the back window, on the grid. Does it the tester light up bright? If not, try the other side.

The light, moving across the grid, should get noticeably dimmer, if the grid is functioning properly. The light will go out when you encounter a broken grid wire..

Filter grid alignment


First, I don't understand why I could not submit my question when the filter model I have was not listed in the drop-down of models. As I wrote in my question, I had to choose the wrong filter, JUST to get the question submitted. NOTE: This instruction is for Hayward DE filters. Mine is a DE 6000, but I believe the instructions apply to all sizes.

I did solve my question by:
  1. Place the grid manifold upside down on a flat surface. (Holes up, remove the air escape tube first.)
  2. Start with the SMALL filter grid(1 of 8) and insert it in the location hole to the left of the stand pipe inlet. (The LARGE hole in the manifold.)
  3. Continue inserting the remaining 7 filter grids counterclockwise into the location holes, with the tight curl of the grid going toward the center.
  4. The base plate (circular swirl piece) is now worked onto the filter grids, BEING SURE THE "CUT-OUT" FOR THE STANDPIPE ALIGNS WITH LARGE MANIFOLD HOLE, where the standpipe will be.
  5. I found working from the center outward, and giggling the plate as I progressed, the filter grid ends worked their way into place. You'll know it's in place when the plate feels solid and is parallel with the manifold. The filter ends will be in the correct notches and the grids will be symmetrical.
  6. Drop the stainless center rod (with washer and nut in place) through the base plate and into the hole in the center of the manifold.
  7. Holding the assembly together, by pressing the base plate and manifold together (with one finger on the rod), turn filter grid assembly over.
  8. Place washer, and tighten nut, on top of rod. Replace air escape tube and tighten clamp.
  9. Lightly lube the standpipe with Vaseline and place the filter grid assembly into the bottom filter housing.
  10. Lightly coat large "O" ring with Vaseline and place onto top lip of bottom filter housing.
  11. Place filter housing top on top of the filter housing bottom, being sure to create an equal size gap between the 2 pieces.
  12. Place the clamp ring around the seam and tighten both screws until the springs are completely compressed. (There will be a slight gap between the clamp ring halves.)
  13. Fire up the pump, add fresh DE through the skimmer return line to the filter, and enjoy your pool.

Flex Grid


The most common multidimensional array, the two dimensional array table, is best presented to your users in row and column format. The grid control offers a convenient way for you to display table data to your users. The users can navigate the table's values using scrollbars. Therefore, the grid control does not have to be as large as the table, because the grid control automatically displays scrollbars.
To add the flex grid control to your toolbox, select project and components. Add the flex grid control:

As you expand the size of the control, it does not look to much like a table. The problem is that the table's default number of rows and columns are two. To fix this problem, you must configure the rows and columns in the properties window:

These refer to rows and columns in a grid control that do not scroll when the user clicks the scrollbars. The fixed rows and columns provides labels that describe the data.
