If you had a dead battery, its likely the code in the radio part of the key no longer is synchronised with the car. Only a dealer can fix that I'm afraid, unless there is a guidance (check, changing the keyfob battery for example) in the car's handbook. Good luck.
Note that when it sometimes (very occasionally) doesn't work its usually due to some kind of radio interfererence just at that moment nearby. There are cases reported here in UK where several neighbours at the same time can't use their car because of some localised radio interference problems.
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
Is the security light on or blinking? If not then do you have power to the starter. You can check this with a test light. You should have power when you turn the key to start. The test light should light up.Should be the small wire.I believe it is purple in color. If the security light is on then you will have to get the codes to see what is causing the no start.Hope this helps.Good luck.
