SOURCE: what does it mean in the bottom left when it reads 60 then flashes to 01? can't get another reading

The "60" number reading that came onto the screen was your pulse rate. If you can't get the monitor to check your blood pressure again, you may need to replace the batteries, the charge may be too low in them.

Sometimes err comes up on the screen, why?

Jean, I'll answer both your questions that you posted separately. The change in sound you hear is caused by the monitor noting a change in how it's reading you BP. The error message is probably directly related to the change in sound. Errors are caused by several things:

  • The Cuff has been placed incorrectly. Cuff should be placed on the wrist, at least 1/2" above the heal of the hand.
  • Talking or movement of your wrist or arm during measurement. Measure again. Keep wrist steady during measurement.
  • Shaking of the wrist with Cuff on. Same as above.
  • Air circuit abnormality. Turn unit OFF and then Back ON and measure again
  • Inflation pressure exceeding 300mmHg. Switch the unit OFF and measure again.
  • Error determining measurement data. Wait 1 minute and measure again.
If you continue to have problems with the unit, it has a 5 year limited warranty ... Contact HoMedics Customer Support 800-466-3342.

Hope this helps answer your 2 questions and helps to solve the problem for you.

Happy Easter!

My wrist cuff monitor seems to be reading low. Is there a way to get it checked or calibrated?

The next time you go to your doctor, take the wrist cuff monitor with you. As they always do, the nurse or doctor will check you vital signs. After they do that and they've told you what your blood pressure and pulse readings are, correctly place the cuff monitor on your wrist and check you BP and Pulse with it. Compare the reading from the cuff monitor to what your doctor got. If it's within a few points, it's no big deal. If it's way off, than there's a problem with the cuff.

Remember, whenever using a cuff monitor, always keep your wrist at heart level for the most accurate reading. Once it's activated, remain completely still and don't move your wrist, until it has finished cycling.

I keep getting low readings. I had my bp read by a nurse yesterday it was 191/110 and today it was 196/119. The bp monitor model BA-616W 138/82. Please advise me?

you should already be dead if your bp is 196/119.normal runs 120/80.hypertension starts at 140/90. wrist bp units are often incorrect. dump nurse and cuff. go see your doc or use the free units at kroger

What does message " EE" mean?

That means that you are not placing the CUFF on correctly. Make sure that the cuff is turned so the finger print is on your interior arm jusy above the arm and below the shoulder, right to the crease... let me know if you need more help... Guy

Reading are much too high, normal BP is 104/50, monitor reads 130/60

if your arm is too large for the cuff it will read high. most cuffs are made for small framed people. try wrapping it around your lower arm and postion it about 2-3 inches above the wrist. use the wrist to take the b.p.

Pressure builds to about 220 then cuff pressure drops off

These cuff-type BP meters are very unreliable; I have bought 4 (one standard type) so far and the one that is still working predictably measures about 10% low. I took it to my GP on an office visit and we compared the systolic & diastolic results and although three different methods/instruments (manual, upper arm portable digital and a stand mounted 'professional') also tracked poorly, mine (Samsung) measured lower than all other methods.
I suspect the sensor that should be doing the measuring is faulty.

I have a wristech modelzsbp-002.Half way through it stops and read Err 05.no where in the manual does it have this and what the problem is.Can you help.

I'm not really sure what error i had with this type of blood monitor but i found that the problem was with the two little knobs behind, that were stick out too much . If you put your finger behind the blood monitor , in the area that comes in contact with the wrist, you should feel two little knobs under the textile material. If they stick out too much try to gently push them in. Hope this is work....

Only blood pressure result I get is 'EE'

That either means you are moving, or you are inflating the cuff to soon after turning it on. Either of these is what mine means when I use it.
